to find breeders yo u can go to akc's website and check their breeder classifieds. u can search by state and distance you want to travel. www.akc.org not to mention u can get information and pictures on all of the breeds and that might help u decide what u want. i know seeing the pictures and having info on them has helped me a great deal. dachshunds are wonderful and if u raise them from pups u can train them to almost be whatever type dog u want. i have had 3 in the past. we are getting a shih tzu this weekend.
get a english bulldog look into it they are the best lap dog ever .the best pesonality and they are so funny just the best dog ever its the truth i have owned smallest dog ever and the biggest dogs and the english bulldog won my heart they are something esle. i own two of them they are wonderful with children best family dog ever!!!
I THINK YOU SHOULD GET A COCKAPOO!!It is a Cocker Spaniel mixed with a poodle.They are very cute, mellow, easy to train, sweet, patient, and loving.They also don't shed that much.They come in 4 sizes:Teacup Toy:under 6 lbs.,Toy:under 12 lbs.,Mini:13-18lbs., and Maxi:over 19 lbs.They are amazing!!They are a great companion dog too!!
I would suggest the pug too..my friends have many of them and all of the ones that I know are calm and fairly quiet. Plus, they're a little sturdier and may be better suited to living with large dogs. Shih tzus are another breed that I would look into. They have the reputation for being a "big dog in a little dogs body," and are known for not having the stereotypical "yappiness" that many small dogs are known for.
I wouldn't suggest the english bulldog if this is a dog that you're looking to "take everywhere," as they seem a little large and heavy to be doing a lot of travelling. They also have a LOT of health problems, and you need to be careful when excersizing with them too much because they can have breathing problems.
Pugs are stinkin cute, but lorrrrrddddd do they shed. I had hair coming in and out of every inch of my shirt at my brothers house. That night I got ready for bed and I had pug hair on the inside of my shirt too. I don't know how you deal with it.
