Tweedle, you should know by the other thread you created that peole who use this forum that people are very opinionated. Most are either pet owners who think they know what a respsonsible breeder should do without ever having bred a litter or, show people who also have very rigid standards-- including not breeding a dog until it has 'pointed'. Just look at the 100 other threads of people getting slammed for asking info on breeding their dogs. If your friend truely wants info on breeding, read read read, ask a trusted vet and connect with a good breeder in your area that you can learn from.
Hi all alicacat1, unfortunatley i have found out just how opinionated and picky some people can be. I may just stick to my UK forums we are much less judgemental on ours. And i thought i would let you know my friend used to breed labradors, so she has some experience, but at present she has a few KC registered Malteses, and was wanting some advice on smaller dogs. But as none can be given she will have to find out for herslef. You are a very considerate and caring person, so to you i send my best wishes
Now joce, onto you. Firstly i do not take kindly to my dogs being called mutts, my dogs are crossbreeds, both of their parents were pedigrees, so therefore they are NOT a mutt; and secondly why post something totally unrelated to the question i asked? It was a simple question, and i expected to get civil answers. I have a saying, if you cant say anything nice, why bother saying anything at all. Maybe you could take heed of this, so you dont hurt peoples feelings! That really would be LOL

tweedle...You are creating mutts...gloss it all you want..you and terrier lover are one in the same and deserve all the flack that you get. No one in their right mind would intentionally make mutts for the heck of it..so..if you cant take the opinions..then dont ask rediculious questions..if you put it out on a public forum you deserve all that you get. Many people have bred mutts and have come here and have changed their view point..But you seem to relish in the making of mutts and braggin about it..so go brag else where...and please dont call our members uncaring and or mean...they are some of the most thoughtful people you can ever find...so please...create havoc else where
Sorry you took offense to Joce, but what is a mutt then, if not a crossbred? Mutts, crossbreds, hybrids, designer dogs-All the same thing-using more than one breed to create! It doesn't mean a thing that the parents are register purebreds, because by breeding to another breed you are taking away the years of developement for that breed and opening up doors for genetic diseases that maybe weren't common or have been attempted to breed out of that breed. It doesn't mean that a mutt is any less lovable than a crossbred, but the fact is, they are the same thing-a wonderful pet that should not be bred unless someone has the resources to found a new breed. I highly doubt there are any of us on the board, me included that have that level of experience, money to do so.
The breeding advice is NOT for me. a friend of mine is planning on breeding Maltese and asked me to get some advice from some overseas dog breeders, she has previouslly bred Labs, so has a basic idea, but wanted to know more specific requirements of toys! I really do give in!
