I would call your vet. I know that you can use Revolution on puppies but I don't know if you can use it on them when they are that young, it also depends on how much they weigh. Definitely call your vet before you do anything. Have you treated the mother?

well now you're in a pickle. YOu have to be very very careful putting flea treatments on a lactating dog or puppies that young. I did find a few veterinary articles/papers that say that Advantage (and only advantage) has been used on lactating and pregnant dogs with no clinical abnormalities, so if you go with a flea product, use that.
Vacuum daily the area and regularly wash the bedding for where hte puppies live. If you have a flea comb, you could concievably use that. I'd basically just go over the puppy and pick off the fleas. But the puppies are almost certainly getting the fleas from their mother. So you'd have to get the fleas off her too.

I have bathed the mom with flea shampoo and i change the bedding twice a day. I also do pick the fleas off the pups but still it's really hard to do so with 11 pups and the mom. I dont know where she would be getting fleas from. I am scared to use any kind of flea medicine on the pups cause they are so young. I am also scared to put anything on the mom cause she is nursing. Have any ideas what to use on her also without affecting the pups.
I dont' know, Ln. Like I said, I went hunting aorund and veterinary papers from 2 universities both mentioned advantage as safe for lactating and pregnant dogs. I know some dog shampoos are pretty harsh =/
Anyone knows if those electronic bug repellent work? I saw one at the store and was wondering if I should get one. It claims to repel fleas, mosquitoes, flies and other bugs. If it really works, it would be the ideal chemical free solution for a whelping box.
my mom works at a vet she is the manger and i was bottle feeding a 2 week old kitten. she has fleas and my mom washed her in dawn. but was very careful to not get it in her mouth or eyes. i wash all my pets with dawn which the vet said it kills fleas.
oh i just have to share my pictures of my pups. they are too cute. You see this is why i have to worry so much about taking care of them cause all of them a very special and so cute. I will have to post another discussion just to share my pics with everyone.
very very cute!!!! what kind of dog is she? she is beautiful, i love her coloring. when i found flea's on my peek who was about 7 1/2 to 8 wks i used warmed up lemon juice mixed with water, it kills the fleas but not the eggs and wouldnt pose any kind of chemical "reaction" with the mom or the pups, i then used conditioner on him so his skin and hair didnt dry out. it worked great and is what i am going to continue to do until he is old enough for a better "chemical" treatment
