Hi, I bought a Brussels Griffon puppy from a breeder who advertises here called Ticekins in January. She told me she's put the papers in the mail the same time that she shipped our dog. She's e-mailed me once last month saying her daughter was sick the reason for no papers. I've e-mailed her twice since with no response. She also put my name on a list of many chain e-mails that she sends out. it's not been that great of an experience buying over the internet. Any idea how to get the papers? Thanks.
Sorry Jillie..but she could be a backyard breeder whose dogs are on limited registration, therefore the offspring have no papers. Try contacting the AKC maybe? Buyer beware..always choose your breeder carefully.
Do you have her phone number? Start calling her house. Daily. More if you have to. Threaten legal action. Buying a dog sight unseen puts a lot more responsibility in the hands of the buyer. you really have to check out the information that is given you by the breeder. Websites, veterinarian references, other breeders, akc numbers, pedigrees,l the whole 9 yards.
I did some searching around and actually found a link to Ticekin brussels griffon. In my own state, no less (I live in Alabama as well!). Drop me an email at email@example.com and I'll try to help you as best I can, assuming that the person you got the dog from is actually from ticekins.
It's very important as a dog owner to do your research. This is a member of the family that will be wiht you for 10 years plus. Go see the breeders home. See how the dog is being socialized. Is the place a dump? Are the dogs walking around in their own feces? Are the parents their? What are the temperaments of the dogs there? etc. FYI this site has a lot of good info on buying a dog. http://www.danemist.com/ABCs/buyingapurebredpuppy.html It applies to buying any dog.

I am going through the same thing. I have even called her. She keeps telling me they are in the mail. Yeah right. I'm going to keep calling her until I get them. Minniyar: I lived in Alabama for 19 years. What part are you from?
This is Stacey Hoskins from Ticekins pomeranians and Brussels Griffons. I have recieved NO emails saying that someone didn't get papers. I am on AOL now, and they block out many of my emails, either thinking it is spam or has a virus attached. Please let me know what your name is, so that I may request duplicate copies of the papers. I DID mail them......and if they were lost in the mail, then they need to be replaced. But I never knew they were lost. (So how could I replace them). To the pom person....yes, Your papers were horribly late......but what you failed to mention was that I was SICK and in bed.....almost ended up in a wheelchair, was out of work for 6 months, and could barely afford to make my morgage or put food on the table. Since I did no breeding at that time, I had NO MONEY to send off for papers. Now, that isn't your fault, that is mine....but I think others should know the rest of the story. When It comes to making the decision between feeding their child, and dogs, or send off papers, then I think most would be like me...they would feed their dogs and child. Also, If you are the person that I think you are....YOu also told me you wanted to breed the dog you purchased on limited registration. And threatened legal action, because I wouldn't let you breed the dog. You should have reiceved papers months ago.....with the limited registration circled and marked with a sharpie. As to people calling me, no one called but the man regarding the pom. My place is open for anyone to see. I do rescue, spay and neuter my rescues prior to them leaving, and can give MANY References if needed (from people who have been here to buy a pet) as well as from my vet. I do NOT sell any poms or griff with full registration. I NEVER sell them with full registration unless it is to a show home.
Thank you for coming and clearing things up. I had gone to your website and you didnt come across at all as an irresponsible breeder. And we all know what AOL email is like! Hope you guys work things out.
I wish I knew who made the allegation about not getting the griff papers. I cannot tell who it was by the name on this forum. The last griff I sold was in JAN. and I haven't had another litter since.....and I have sent the papers out a long time ago...couldn't even tell you when It was, it was so long ago. So I quess i will have to call all the people on the litter record to see who didn't get their papers. Stacey
Yes, what Minniyar said. And I'm glad to hear that you so actively discourage the breeding of your pups. It's nice to know there are still responsible breeders out there. I certainly hope that things are going better for you.
I have just looked at my litter record...It seems that I send the papers out in Feb. sometimes. But I have NO phone numbers on the record, except to the one I sold to a show home. (I know he got the papers, I have talked to him on the phone several times since he recieved the pup) Also, what people that are not involved in showing or breeding know, is that many people use others stud dogs to correct an imperfection in there line (or at least try to). So that was the case with this litter....I had to send the litter app. off to get it signed by the sires owner. Now, the sire resides with me, and we now co-0wn him, but up until then, he was owned in full by someone else. Also, AKC was in the midst of rearranging how the applications would be processed at that time (or arouond that time) and it was taking twice as long to get litters registered. Since toy dogs pups have a high mortalitliy rate, I do not send off papers until the pups are at least 8 weeks. That is just me, but I know many others that do this also. PLEASE who ever didn't get the papers, contact me at Staceyhoskins@aol.com. IF you cannot contact me, due to AOL kicking out messages, please relay this to this forum. I have no idea who you are, and other than sending out mass letters via snail mail, I have no way of knowing. Thanks Stacey
"Since I did no breeding at that time, I had NO MONEY to send off for papers." Not trying to start anything but curious....I can understand someone being ill but you state that you didn't do any breeding so you didn't have the money to send them papers??? Did stamps go up to $100 dollars and no one told me?
