Im getting a Great Pyrenees (female) that i want to show. The litter is currently 6 weeks old. The breeder isnt letting them go till the tender age of 12 weeks...ohh thats forever, well i guess she wants to wait till then becasue she wants to evaluate each puppy and if we want to show her she has to be the best....well there wont be a problem with that becasue the father is absolutely the best ;-). Well only 6 more weeks. Im thinking of two names : Bella or Nicollette. Which do you guys like?
Allie: Ever think of a pyr? Good Luck in your decision!
As for afghans, they are popular with juniors. When one is willnig to maintain the coat, grooming is not a big deal. Remember if you are thinking puppy it takes 2 years to get a full coat in and even longer for a specials coat. The pups are cute, but many judges will not award them becuase they do not really understand the metamorphisis of the afghan hound.
Hey Allie! I am partial to English Setters! I love em! Great personality, a dream to show! Then Afghan's would be next. Icy is right about not all judges are with it of their physical changes. Bless thier beautiful soals though! You need to think about personalities as well of the breeds you mentioned! Bloat being a health concern in both E.Setters & Afghans. Which would best fit your personality? All four have very different personalities.... So you decided against the Standard Poodle?
