Man, they've got this show on called "Killer Ants" I've never seen anything more amazing...these little buggers are tiny, yet they produce a sting/bite that can kill a human!! It's insane how they charge their pray..I would have never guessed itty bitty, little old ants could do this sorta thing.

I didn't watch "Killer Squid" yet..lol It's coming on again, and then "Killer Bees"..Uh huh!

DH has duty tonight..looks like it's me, a bag of popcorn and Killer shows! :o)

i would watch it but my sister has this weird phobia of ants so i think she would freak out. and i hate bees but i would so watch the killer bees thing.

I love the Discovery Channel :)

We dont get Animal Planet although I wish we did. On the WestJet airplanes they have live sattelite tv and you can pick your own channel so I always watch Animal Planet in the air.

I watched a show on Killer Bees on the Discovery Channel like a year ago, I wonder if it was the same one. I didnt see the entire thing but in the part that I did see they were interviewing these people who has seen a swarm start go into attack mode, they got stung a little but got inside although the neighbors dogs were out and they got the brunt of the attack and one of them was killed. They said they could hear the dogs screaming but there was nothing they could do, it was really sad.

I've heard that far more people are injured by fireants than are by bees in a year, because where as when people get stung by a bee, its usually just one bee.. one sting.

When I have been stung by a fireant, it's always been more than 2 or 3 stings minimum. If someone got swarmed by an ant bed, it'd be way more.

A lot of things kill more people then Bees and Sharks do, lol.

where do what come from, fire ants? Theyr'e native to south america and have been imported into the southeastern United states. We have them where I live.

I love the Discovery channel! I hate ants however!
When my son was two we were at the lake and my son was playing in the sand somehow he managed to get into a fireant hill he was covered in ants in a matter of seconds. He started screaming I ran over and saw the ants and freaked! I ran into the water with him and was able to get the ants washed off before they hurt him to badly. He still got bit many times and had whelps all over.

fire ants are an 'accidental' import. As in, they stowed away on cargo ships or planes in the past.

we have fire ants were I live...They have killed off the native red ants, which horned toads eat, so now the horned toads are endangered.

It's amazing how animals being imported to were they should be effects all the animal.

I love the discovery channel. as well as the history channel..

I love the Animal Planet channel, as well as Discovery and Discovery Health Channel. We have satellite, so I'm lucky to get all 3. I rarely watch the big network channels though.

My favorites on Discovery and Discovery Health are Trauma in the ER, Dr G, Medical Examiner and the Critical Hour.

Anyone else watch those shows?

As for Animal Planet, I will watch almost anything on there, with the exception of the guy that runs around doing dangerous animal stunts, while clad in khaki shorts and shirt. His name escapes me, due to the fact I don't like his show.

I like to watch the Animal Planet shows about the Houstan, San Francisco, Detroit, New York, Miami and other SPCA's.

My dogs love to watch Animal Planet. Tyke, my Japanese Chin, will sit through an entire show, while Daisy is interested in the dog shows. :D
