I know i put in a post that sandy is eating dry food now and her eating is normal..well that's what i thought..I just put some dry food down for her in the kitchen and she wouldn't touch it. I moved the food to my room (where i fed her last time) and she is devouring it. Anyone know why? I hope your all not getting fed up with hearing about sandy lol sorry if you are
Is your kitchen a more open floor plan? Does she sleep/live in your bedroom? She may want a more "den like" place to eat that is lower traffic. It's a basic instinct for them to want to feel safe where they eat (imagine wild dogs - they eat in a "den" where they don't feel threatened by predators). If Sandy is a little more insecure than it makes sense that she wants to hide to eat.
I rescued a dog that spent 13 days in the Florida National forest/swamp during Hurricane Charley. When Kalley came to us she had to eat in her crate and no where else and when she did eat she inhaled her food. She had been living trying to stay away from gators and coyotes and her "basic instincts" had kicked in. She still prefers somewhere quiet to eat.
I haven't been following all of Sandy's story. Is she a rescue? Did she have a hard start?
