those are fine examples duck bitter but you have taken them out of context. post the links to the threads they were copied and pasted out of. i would bet they are responses to people asking for advice on breeding two different breeds together. not someone who had an accidental litter of mutts.
melani - PNSA means posts not showing again. at night sometimes posts dont show right away but they will when someone posts again .

Duck, give it up already. Nobody is saying this fiasco was right and Basset came to tell us with her tail between her legs. Nobody planned this litter and I'm sure even after it was expected the last thing on Basset's mind was money. People do get trampled on for this subject but if you look at it honestly you will find it to be people with motives like "a new breed" or money for cute little mutts. Are they mutts? yes they are. Should this have happened? no. Was it planned? no.
Everybody got your point and maybe this will help us all be a little more understanding in the future. Let it go now and admit those are some cute little puppies.
We DO jump on people who cross breed here.. but these people are the ones that come on with topics like
Where can I find a Maltipoo? What do you think my Chihuahua would look like if I ... (crossed it with a Shih Tzu) ?? Just purchased a Yorkie Poo
Not topics like ..
Well it's about time I come clean... With the message of an accident. Thing is duck, it wasn't intentional. And Basset isn't a careless back yard breeder - she doesn't do this for a living. She's not pumping out these pups to anyone and everyone regularly. And since we do know her, and know she isn't , we can support her.
I understand your point and you are right - we would jump on anyone that was doing this purposely.
But this was an accident by a very careful woman that loves her dogs.
Now that the point has been made, why don't we move on ? :) argueing over this is so tiresome!!

Ok, one last bite and then you are history Duck Bitter, I'll not waste my precious time responding to your banter. If I had more time and if this were the proper place, I would debate with you. But alas, I have better things to do, like play with my adorable, well-loved puppies or perhaps paint my toenails or pick lint from the carpet.
Since you are so carefully researching my threads on Terrific Pets, and since you posted where I told someone to get their mixed breed puppies spayed or neutered, then maybe your detective skills aren't all that you thought they were.
If you were so thorough with your research on what I have posted, you would have noticed, that in my 2nd thread posted on this subject, on the very front page, no less, I mentioned this...
"If I do find new homes for any of them, they'll either be spayed or neutered before leaving here or sold on a strict spay/neuter contract."
Hello, can you read Duck Bitter?
May I point out the fact that almost the very first words out of my mouth, were the puppies will either be spayed or neutered before leaving or sold on a strict spay/neuter contract.
Does that not negate most of your argument here?
So, I had an unplanned litter with my purebred, registered dogs. A litter that was not planned and was, in fact, created even though I took steps to prevent.
Am I the first person in the world to have a litter of un-planned, puppies from 2 different (although similiar) parents? Am I purposefully mass producing dozens of litters a year for profit?
Is the fact that I have 3 of the most loved, mixed breed puppies even your concern? Unless you are planning to spend the rest of your life with me, then I think not. It's really not your concern what happens in my life.
I am not asking you to pay for their vet visits. I am not asking you to clean up after them. I am not asking you to love the puppies. I am not asking you to send money to support them. I am not asking you to pay for their spaying or neutering. I am not asking you to pay for anything at all.
With that said, I am done responding to you.
PS: Why were you banned in the first place Duck Bitter? Did it have something to do with your penchant for discourse and dispute?
Some people on here just don't beleave in breeding dogs.Purebred or not you still get the same question Why produce more dogs ? There are 1000's of mixed breeds and purebred being euthanized daily. As most of you know I breed Australian Shepherds.I do all my heath test and all my breeding stock is DNA'ed.
I breed number 1 is I breed to better the breed. 2.I want good working dogs and I want other people to have good working dogs. I do all my research on pedigree before I breed.I have a folder that has all my dogs pedigree in it.I did the research so far back that some of the pedigrees only have two dogs in it,it goes as far back to 1950 I want the best of the best. All my dogs work here and I take them to friends ranchs to work. The only titles my dogs have is DNA-VP and DNA-CP My dogs pedigree have lot of WTCH(working trial champion) RD-Ranch dog RDX-Ranch dog excellent RTD-ranch trial dog(s-sheep c-cattle d-duck Some have CH-Conformation champion. I don't show my dogs I don't need to prove what my dogs can do to anyone but me..... To some here I should not breed my dogs just because I don't show them but hey if someone here wants to pay for it then I would. :) Don't let Ducky get to you. just my thought I am sure the tables are going to get turned on me now since I don't show them. :)
I'm with Basset, let's just let this topic go already. Things have been done, stuff was said, everyone is riled up, we all need to calm down. We're all (well, hopefully) adults here and should act with maturity with each other. We shouldn't resort to name calling as that is the lowest form of insult there is. Obviously most of us don't know each other except for on these boards, but we know "OF" each other enough to know what has been going on.
I'm sick of people preaching to others "Get your pets altered, it's what's best". Of course it is, we all know that. But Duck Butt, you say you don't like mutts, you probably only like pure-breds, am i right? Well, somebody has to breed those pure-breed dogs for you to purchase and their pets aren't altered? Do you jump down a breeders throat when you hear of this? When you take a drive down the highway and see a sign that states a breeder, do you stop and start picketing in front of their house that their pets should be spayed/neutered? If so, I'd love to see pictures of that, it would really make my day.
So, again, let's just stop harassing Basset and her pups and let them grow up into nice loving homes that only Basset will be picking for them!!! She knows what's good and what's not, she will choose the right homes for the little ones and they will be happy, and so will she and she will have learned from this experience. You can rest assured, after this having happened to her, she will not let this happen again, she is more responsible than you think Duck Butt and whoever else is angry at Basset.
Basset, we all care about you and your pups and my furbabies are sending you and yours wet kisses and tail wags!!!!
Wellsaid Canuck... let's drop this please. Can we just agree to disagree? I'm with Basset, she came on here totally honest and mature to tell us what happened. She did not try to promote mix-breeding. Some of us (me included) patted her on the back and wished her good luck and some of us disagreed with the accident. Let's just leave it at that. No one's going to fully change someone's beliefs or perspective here, so let's drop it.
I've never been involved in a chat group before, but couldn't help joining in here. I raise dogs for a hobby because of my love for dogs. I have found several things to be true in raising and selling dogs. 1. Accidents DO happen. No matter how responsible you are, sometimes dogs do their own thing. We can only learn from our experiences and not repeat them. 2. People who pay for dogs will give them better homes than those who do not pay for dogs. I have found this to be true even of my purebred dogs. On a rare occasion when I drop a price to sell the last of the litter, that is the puppy that bounces from home to home because somebody bought it on a whim. Never again will I sell a "cheap" dog. Neither will I give away cross-breds for the same reason. 3. Cross breeding is actually how new breeds come about - DUH. Hobbyists cross, they become popular, breed clubs form, eventually the AKC recognizes them as a breed. It's only a matter of time for the labradoodle, and many others.
As far as shelters, you "adopt only" people dont' have all the answers either. I've tried rescuing dogs from the shelter before, but am not allowed to adopt because I have other pets that aren't neutered. My dogs in my breeding program are as much a part of my family as my children are, and yet I can't rescue an unwanted pet because of them not being "fixed." If someone is willing to give a dog a good home, the rules shouldn't be so restrictive. THAT'S part of the reason so many dogs are in shelters!
Enjoy those puppies because they're all cute and fun. Thanks for doing the responsible thing and having your male neutered because of genetic problems. Way to be responsible in having the puppies vet-checked already! You sound like you know what you're doing.
I actually do remember one in particular where a persons dog got pregnant accidently by a neighbors dog and she got jumped all over for leaving a dog in heat outside or something, then later everyone changed their minds and said it was the neighbors dogs fault because it was not leashed or fenced and wandered into her yard.
So I have seen people say it was an accident and get jumped on though certainly happens more with the stupid I wanna breed my 12 yr old pug to my one legged chihuahua.
Basset did admit it and i'm sure learned a lesson.
Basset Lover, I was born and raised in the same town that is listed in your Dogster picture page...actually in the twon that is home to the high school arch-rival to your town...(Home of the Braves...)
OMG they are the cutest little things. I would give an adoption fee for one in a heart beat lol if my hubby would let me. But I think we are at the limits on our family members now since I just added a new minpin puppy to our family on top of the toy poodle, english bulldog, and the newest member, the anatolian shepard. Congraats on the new little ones and don't let anyone else bring you down, mixed or not, they have to be the sweetest lil things ever. Congrats from the Banchie Bunch, lol.
Whew... I never thought I'd get to the end of this post LOL
Anyway... First off, CONGRATS Basset those puppies are adorable! :)
Next thing is, (and I'll probably get my head snapped off for this) BUT I agree with Duck just a tad... okay okay maybe more than a tad maybe just a inch more but I agree with what he said right here...

Nevermind, you all are missing the point. I know accidents happen. I am talking about how you accept her accident with open arms but when another user comes on with the same accident you run them through the mill. Thats my point. Just because you know her you act like it is ok or something. If anyone else had come on and posted that 99% of you would have asked why there were 2 unaltered dogs in the home in the first place. An accident would have not of been an acceptable answer to you because you would have reamed her for not getting them fixed in the first place.
~*~ 75% of you jump down undeserving ppls throats.~*~
Thank God for opinions right ;) now you know I still got sum love for ya'll I'll go back under my rock now LOL
Oh boy, this is a long post. All I want to say is while I can see a bit of everyone's point of view here I think BL is doing the right thing and what more can you ask for than that. Of course mistakes happen everywhere. I too had a child at 19 years old and she has been the best thing that's ever happened to me, wouldn't change it for the world.
Now, for the most important thing:) Those pups are adorable, congratulations and enjoy your new babies. I know they are getting lots of love and attention.
