jackBlack is very lucky he didn't lose his MinPin Momma. But isn't the whole Vet Care thing eerily reminiscent (sp?) of how un-insured or self-pay HUMANS are often treated? I suppose it is a sign of the times when innocent lives can be lost all on account of a dollar :(

Jack, I'm glad to hear that you found a vet who would work with you.
Some offer and accept the Pet Care plan, another poster mentioned a while back that is basically a VERY low interest loan for both human and pet care health related issues (vets, doctors, dentists).
While it's not my place to tell you what to do, I would really strongly suggest you wait until you're financially better able to handle emergencies before you consider breeding one of your other dogs.
Things happen that we can't plan on and as you've experienced first hand, it can cost us not only financially, but in emotion. Sadly sometimes the "cost" is our pet's life.
Once again, I'm happy your girl is safe, sorry for the loss of the pups and am relieved that you found a vet to help you with your girl.
Barligirl, I am so sorry about your hubby's illness. I would think you might have a thing or two to say (through your attorney) to any doctor he may have seen in those 2 years who "missed" kidney failure!
My vet would hold payments,it makes me sick when its a life or death situation and nobody wants to help.Glad your girl is ok and im very glad you found a vet thats really in it for the animal. The worse part is most vets wont take payments because so many people dont pay its hard for everyone.
it is sad when an emergency comes up. My brothers vet wouldn't do a needed surgery until my brother was approved for a credit card. Once he gave him his credit card number, the vet was as nice as can, as he handed him a $2000.00 bill. the dog had to be pts 18 months later. so sad (due to old age and some other medical problems.)
Yes, they spayed her while she was getting her c-section. I actually got her staples out yesterday and I noticed today that there is still a staple in there. Oh well, not everyone pays attention to details.
