Health certificates dated within 10 days of departure are required for all animals. ** Continental Airlines will accept American Pit Bull Terrier puppies that are between 8 weeks and 6 months of age provided that they do not weigh more than 20 lbs. All other American Pit Bull Terriers will be refused. This embargo does not apply to American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, or Miniature Bull Terriers. Crossbreeds with American Pit Bull Terriers are also excluded from the embargo. Continental Airlines has also embargoed the transport of French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs and Bulldogs from May 15 – Sept. 15, 2005 due to the breeds’ susceptibility to high heat, high humidity and stress. ***Pets cannot be checked as baggage on Delta flights between May 15 and September 15. excuse me if this sounds dumb but i thought i remember many of the bully people on here saying that the apbt and the anstaff were pretty much the same breed of dog. if thats the case then why would the airlines ban one and not the other ?
Good question. I can't really tell one bully from another. And how could you prove anything at the airport? I would think you could just say your dog is a mix, even if he is purebred, and could get around it that way.
check that temp quote. i use northwest and the udsa says that the animals that are in cargo can not be shipped if the temps are below 10 degrees ( forecasted or acutal) or higher than 85 EXCEPT for SNUBBED nose cats or dogs where the temp is 75. any temp under 50 has to have a certificated of acclamation signed by a vet
