I bathe Harley every Sunday afternoon. He's very calm and cooperates everytime.
The thing is, after I towel dry him and let him down onto the floor (so I can go get the blow dryer), he runs around the house like the devil is after him. Tucks his tail and just nascars around the house. He rubs his body and face along the length of the couch and looks like he's on a sugar high... jumping on furniture and just wild wild wild!! SUPER FREAK!
My question is... why does he do this? We joke and say he's air-drying himself, but I am really curious to know.

Ours do it too....same as you described, especially the Pugs.....We always laugh and say their trying to get that "good smell" off, they worked so hard on getting the odor just right and we take it away!
my dog does this too he rubs his shoulders on the carpet with his backlegs him until he accidentally bumps his head on the cabinet after he does the same thing again outside but without hitting his head.
To be honest, I can't think of one dog we've had in my entire life that DIDN'T do the "rub off the smelly soap stuff" smell. That and use the carpets, bedspreads, furniture and anything they could reach to dry themselves off on. Think it's called, "canine payback"!
my 3 do it as well... two love the water hose … have a hard time watering my plants! , 1 runs and hides... but when I add the lovely smell of shampoo... ooooweee do they act the freak... it is a joyful thing to watch ...lol
