My chihuahua that isnt even a year old in "the pack" is not more dominate then me but she thinks she is the bigger one with my boxer. Now she will mount sadie(boxer) when she is like laying down. Also when sadie is laying down she will just like chew on her lol like on her ear. When we see this happen we tell her No but as soon as you turn away she is at it again. My chihuahua chanelle is not even spayed yet but she hsould be pretty close the vet hasnt mentioned it thought she is around 6 months old.I was thinking that maybe she was more aggressive because she isnt spayed yet.could that be a reason?Another thing is if one of them is getting attention the other one will do somthing to get the other one out of the way. Chanelle also if sadie is standing up and your petting her chanelle will go and bite at the back of her legs.In the yard when they are playing thats what chanelle will do go and bite the back of her legs and then sadie will try to chase her.To me it seems like little sister bugging older sister ,but i dont want one of them getting hurt like sadie is 5 and chanelle's not even 1 yet and like sadie gets so worn out.I know that sadie wouldnt acualy hurt her because she is so gentle. And chanelle will just chew her up lol.I dont kno how to stop this and its also really confusing because sumtimes there fighting and sumtimes there playing. One more thing is that over food they are REALLY aggressive towards each other i cant loose any of my babies what should i do. I kno i made the food thing seem really intense but there usually feed in different places but if sadie is walking around while shes eating chanelle will stop and do that growl in her throat and sadie will do the same thing but more with bones they dont get bones often bc they are quite agressive with them can anyone give me advise without like talking meanly about any of it?
The dog showing aggression toward another animal… should not be tolerated. I would have your dog evaluated by a professional for aggression and take steps to retrain for appropriate behavior . Find a good trainer for help you start the right way... I would walk chihuahua untill You have control. (A dog should never pull you on a walk or walk in front of you. That says to the dog that they are the leader… and you are the follower.) Once you are seen as the pack leader ... it should be EZ to say no... and establish what is proper and what is not. It will take time and patience.
Aggression between females is not anusual, and can be very serious. Unfortunately, I don't know any methods of helping stop it other than to make sure both animals are spayed. That can help, but it is no guarantee.
chioxer --take it from someone who has had the female vs female boxer fights- you had best get the chi to stop, because when she does hit the "mature" age your boxer may say "ok i let you do that when you were a kid- now you are grown, your but is mine" and that will be all she wrote for your chi. my females are 4 weeks apart in age- were together everyday for over a year and one day they decieced that they did not like each other and the fight was on- now they are ALWAYS separated. hope this saves you some problms
