When I was 2 or 3 I was bitten in the face by our Beagle. I had to go to the hospital for stitches. My sister and I were feeding her table scraps and she warned me not to get too close or she would bite. I didn't listen because I thought the dog "loved me" since she was our pet. Little did I know! That was the only time we had a problem with her.
My mom was bit on the hand pretty badly by a dachsund because she pet him while he was sitting on his bone...which she did not know. My dad was bit in the face also by another dachsund for absolutely no reason. My cat occasionaly attacks my feet when I run the stairs but it is just playing it never really hurt.
I was biten by my own dog--- Old English Sheepdog female dog several times--- each instance was a situation where she was hurt, stuck in something --a dog in panic mode and I was trying to get her unstuck etc--- She was always getting herself in some sort of bad situation and would panic. Every time she got me I swear that I saw stars! Very painful.
I can not imagine how bad a dog attack would feel!
Well...never by a dog. Guinea pigs numerous times (ouch, those things are vicious if they get annoyed), and friend's cats every now and then. I've been lunged at by two horses (my boyfriend's been bit twice...poor guy), and almost pinched by a hermit crab, which may not sound severe, but it's the size of a baseball and has a huge claw. I'm expecting I will eventually by a shelter dog or one of my horses.
Yesterday Caitlin was bitten by my sister in law's pekingese/pomeranian mix while she was at my grandparents house last night. He is known to be food aggressive, so no one disturbs him when he's eating. The dog's bag of food was up on the counter, and Caitlin apparently got too near to it, and he jumped up and bit her on the face :P She didn't even touch the food bag. Just the proximity was enough.
It's not a bad bite, and luckily she's not afriad of dogs because of it (she immediately asked if she could go out and play with RIddick and Bowen when she got home) but needless to say everyone in teh family is really upset about the whole thing.
I remember being bitten on the hand by a sheltie when I was about 6, and my mom's also been bitten on the mouth by a sheltie. I've also had numberous amounts of snapping from toy poodles.. seems like those smaller pointy face type dogs aren't my thing.
When I was about 5 or 6 years old, I was bitten by a pitbull. Now please do not start the thing about a APBT bite again. I just so happened, my mother had told me to go int o my neighbors backyard to get my baby brother. When I picked him up he started crying, and I truly believe that the dog was just trying to protect the baby cus he thought I was hurting him since he started crying. But in being a responsible owner, my friend's dad immediately took the dog and had him put down all because he bit me on the face. I felt terrible and tried to talk them out of doing it but he said if any dog had ever bitten a child especially, it would not stay there. They went and got a new dog about 3 months later, it was a cocker spainiel. That dog had bitten 5 people within the first day they had it. They finally gave up on dogs and got birds instead. But I have also been bitten by a shihtzu, collie, english bulldog, minpin( she likes to use my feet as her teething toy), shetland sheepdog, yorkie, chihuahua, toy poodle, neighbor's minpin(he is really mean and unsocialized), and a few other that were just plain old mutts. LOL I think I need to just stay away from dogs altogether. NOP Can't see that ever happening so I will just deal with it.
I was attacked last summer by the neighbors bird dog. He had just killed our family cat 2 weeks prior to the attack. The dog initially tried to attack my Pekingese I was able to scoop her up before he got to her so instead he attacked me. I ended up with stitches in my right hand and left arm nerve damage two broken fingers and several stitches in my left thigh. Funny thing is I have owned and rescued Pit Bulls for the past 10 years so many people who knew me automatically assumed I had been attacked by a Pit Bull and were actually shocked to hear it was a neighbors prized bird dog. I later found out that the same dog had also attacked a 4 year old girl putting her in the hospital a couple months before my attack. The story never even made the news...Imagine if it had been a Pit Bull...
