I have a cat now which we found as a stray. She is the best thing that could have ever happend to me. I honestly never really liked cats but I surely have come a long way. My cat has been in kennels while we have gone on vaccation before. I was told she hisses at the dogs. She is luckily declawed in the front so the were not injured.
My problem is that I am getting a new puppy in 2 weeks and I have read many things on introducing a puppy and cat. Nothing seems to be clear. Do you have any suggestions?

IF there is any way the person you are getting the puppy from could give you a blanket or something that has the dog/puppy scent on bring it to your home to introduce the smell. Also, make sure your cat has a safety zone a baby gate would be great for this so if it wants it can say I don't want to be near this puppy and retreat. Also, give your kitty extra love or special treats during the first two months so it feels like it is a good thing going on here. Last, put the puppy crate in the in and area where the cat can get to and sniff a distance it feels comfortable with. MY puppy and cat get along great now BUT it took hissing a few scratches and some chasing to be okay... Good luck!
