hi, yea rabbits are great. I have one. at one time though I had 4 but I sold 3 of them to people. Also, you (if you don't have dogs or cats or something) you can keep them right inside your house like just walking around because they can be litter box trained (mine is).
With the weather being so hot my dog can barely go outside to potty before keeling over I'm not thinking a rabbit would do well. I'm sure wild rabbits do fine and all.. but it's almost harder to regulate shade, and everything else in an outside cage.
actually my rabbits an outside rabbit and he does fine in the summer and winter. In the winter we have a light that keeps him warm (even though they have fur we still feel bad) and in the summer you always have to check their water because they drink it so fast. we also put like a bowl or ice in there or a block of ice and he lays next to that to keep cool.
Hello...I once owned a rabbit named Fudge. He was brown and white and was a dawrf size. He was surely adorable but I couldn't stand the amount of work they require. Not to be gross but they poop more often than any creature I have ever seen. Personality wise they are wonderful though. Good Luck.
I had 20 rabbits in my life, (12 of them is from one litter). They are pretty good pets, but they aren't as easliy trained as dog, but teaching them to come is pretty easy. As pointed out before, they can be potty trained, however, they will chew stuff up pretty badly, much worse than any other dogs that I ever had.
Rabbits are excellent pets. My mom used to breed them when I was little. The mother of all the babies lived for 14 years..which is amazing because most rabbits only live 7-10 years I was told. We also used to keep them outside in the yard in a huge cage where they could still run. Keeping it outside wont be a problem, just make sure it has a roof over it's head. They like to have a lot of room in the cage also. Have fun with your new rabbit!
Years ago I used to raise mini-lops. They are very easy bunnies. Never feed them lettuce, it will make them sick. But really they are easy. Give them the rabbit pellets, veggies, water and you should be good to go. If you handle them alot they will be calm. I used to walk mine on the beach, with a harness on the beach. They are tons of fun. Good luck!!!!!!!!
