I am interested in getting my Old English Sheepdog pup microchipped. I really have no idea how it's done, who does it and how it works. If my dog is stollen, lost, etc. can they track him or is it just if they are found? I would appreciate any help.
Only if they are found & a regular vet can put the chip in. It is done under the skin likw a shot between the sholder blades. You MUST register it however as soon as it's implanted. Failure to register it means you wasted your money & the chip will have no info as to who the dog belongs to when scanned. It is very easy to register & they will assist you with the paper work to do so.
Gosh I am worried now! I thought that the vet registered it? And if any information changed it was up to the owner? Isn't it enough that when scanned if lost the vet infoamation came up and then the records they have on you????? Please reply!
