Hi, I have a rottweiler too - he's 4 years old. Have you switched dog foods? I would be a little concerned about the yellow mucus. Maybe you should get a second opinion or contact your vet for them to run some tests. This is something I wouldn't let go.
Definitely get a second opinion. I had a dog that I took to a vet with a wierd ear They said she was kicked and had scar tissue. A few years later we switched vets and he diagnosed her with cancer in that ear, the reason it was messed up. She lost her ear and was put to sleep because of it. My point is, if I had gotten a second opinion, she might have had a longer life and better quality of life.
