I have been TiVoing this show religously for some time now. While I think there are quite a few people that are idiots on how to raise dogs, there are quite a few stories where I feel Cesar is just plain awsome. What does everyone who has seen it think of this guy.
And I absolutely love his "Pack". I wish everyone could see this show as a pre-requisite to owning a dog.
I have watched alot of his shows and have been impressed with some of his results. The pack amazes me too....all those dogs, did you see whare he goes in to feed. One bowl in front of all those dogs, and no one moves but the one its intended for....I'd like to borrow him.
I really like him… I honestly believe that it is energy transference that helps with training. I wish he were on the east coast! I’d love to meet him and his pirate pack = ). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I like ceasar, I think he really knows how to read dogs, his timing is uncanny, and he knows how to conduct himself i really, think he is one of the revolutionary dog trainers of our time, and better yet, he has a t.v. show. somewhat educational.
He has seminars coming up and charges $200 per couple. I'd love to go. I'm about a half an hour from his center. I told my boyfriend that I wanted to take Dino to his camp and throw him in the yard with all those dogs. He just grumbles at me for saying it. It would be interesting to find out how much he charges for those private training sessions. I'm sure that the people who get on the show get it for free, but the others must be paying an arm and a leg.
I'm not afraid of my dog at all and I will get in his face and very intently tell him no, but he just does not behave for me the way dogs always behave for Cesar. I don't think it's all as easy as he makes it sound. He is incredible though.
I LOVE his teachings! before i bought my Tosa, i watched every show available. i have also ordered his DVD, great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can get it from the website already mentioned. i think you're right, people get into trouble when they treat their dogs like children. it is great to love them that much, but they should still be treated as dogs. Coach, my Tosa, has everything he needs, more than some children. but, he does not eat before me, walk out of a door before me, walk in fornt of me when he walks on leash, ever win a stare competition, etc.... i was recently at my friends house, and she wanted me to go to the basement, well Coach was not hearing it. he resisted and started to whine. my friends told me, its ok, he can stay up here with me, and she started to pet him and console him. i got so annoyed. do not pet and console him!!!! he will go where i go, no matter what!!! i grabbed his leash and gave him no choice but to follow me. i had nothing but confidence in my voice and attitude. i didnt make it seem as though it was a punishment, all i thought was "this is my dog, and he will follow me wherever i go"..... it worked out and after the 5th step he came down on his own without a problem. i really respect how he treats dogs....i always recommend his dvd and TV show to anyone who has a dog and needs help with them. Coach is sooooooooooo well behaved. he is still a 5 month old puppy, but he is brilliant! i can definitely say Ceasar had a lot to do with it.
I don't beleive this guy is actually anything but someone who has a keen sense around dogs. Only a small few have those abilities. Did any one see him on Oprah, Oprah asked for help for her dogs separation anxiety and he really didn't give her good advise. Heck I've been told in the past that I have a good sense around dogs, but it doesn't mean I was a behaviorlist or trainer. He sure is makeing money off it though isn't he.To the inexperienced eye of course he looks amazing, but thats because most people don't have a clue.
Honestly the majority of the problems, not including extreme aggresion, that he encounters are quite simple behavior problems to fix. The problem comes in getting the owners to treat thier dogs like dogs and not little children. Sometimes it takes a stranger, or outsider to give you a mental smack and say what you have been doing is wrong. I however must disagree, I feel that he has an uncanny ability to be dominant over aggresive dogs and to control and redirect this behavior. This is not just some smoke and mirrors trick, "Hey now pay me big bucks." It's obivous that he has talents. It's also obvious that he uses common sense and treats dogs as what they are, Dogs. I however would not want to attempt some of the things he has done SUCCESFULLY with Extremely aggressive dogs.
