Buyer Beware of Elizabeth Goebel of Alopcia Sphynx!! I puchased a kitten from her that died one week later! This lady refuses to respond to any of my emails or calls! I spent alot of money on this kitten and will not walk away from this issue without resolution! So,Elizabeth,I would like to speak with you.You say your are a reputable breeder,but how could you be when you knowingly sold me a very sick kitten!! I know I am not the first,second or third person you have done this to!If anyone has any info about this woman please let me know!

Hi Elizabeth, I just discovered your email reply about the registration in my spam mailbox!! Oh, I don't understand,sometimes I get stuff and sometimes it get dumped in there! It gets so aggrivating! I wanted to let you know we named kitty Fortune "Cookie"". I took her to the vet and she told me that the kitten has Coccidia.She is on antiboitics for it,but the vet thought maybe you would want to have your other kittens checked out before you shipped them.It can be transmitted to humans also.Other than that she is in excellent health and everyone in the vet's office went kuckoo for her.They thought she was awesome!! So do we! Thank You so much for letting us adopt her!! Angie

I'm glad to hear all is going well. I definitely don't want to contradict your vet but it is virtually impossible for coccidia as I keep them on interceptor (kittens & adults) and also use nemex. I will certainly have one checked but the others went out the same day and there was a fecal done? Anyway if you need anything else let me know.

Hi Elizabeth, Yes, the vet did do a fecal exam. I am not worried about it though.I just wanted to let you know that is what she said. She wanted me to get her vaccinated for feline aids? What do you think about that? I told her no! Do you think it is necassary? Cookie will never be outside anyway.

Elizabeth, I have some very sad news.I just returned from an emergency trip to the vet's office.Our kitten (Fortune Cookie) died tonite.We had been gone for awhile tonite and when we got back we noticed that she was walking very wobbly and kept falling over.I picked her up and she started gasping for air,so I called the vet and took her in as fast as I could and she died when she arrived.We are not sure what happened.We always put her in her own special kitten proofed area with food,water and her litter box when we leave so she is safe..My vet is going to send her body to Ohio State University for an independent autopsy and we will find out the results in about a week. Dr.Fedderke said she will try to get in touch with you.We are just so sick about it all.My kids and I can't stop crying!It hurts me to even send this email..We are so sad.Cookie was just like a human infant.She loved to be held and she would hold our fingers in her paws and go to sleep.,I just wanted to let you know.I will be in touch.Angie

NOW IN RESPONSE TO THE POSTING ABOUT A SICK KITTEN. ANGIE MEYERS HAD A AUTOPSY DONE THAT REPORTED PNEUMONIA NOW IN THE E-MAIL AFTER SHE GOT THE KITTEN WAS HEALTHY EXCEPT HER VET THOUGHT COCCIDIA (NO PNEUMONIA) AND THE KITTEN WAS ON ANTIBIOTICS? AND IT WAS 9 DAYS LATER WHEN SHE WENT OUT FOR AWHILE AND CAME BACK HOME AND FOUND THE KITTEN LIFELESS. NOW IF THE KITTEN HAD PNEUMONIA FROM 10 DAYS PRIOR WHEN TAKEN TO THE VET FOR THE HEALTH PAPER TO TRAVEL AND THEN TO HER VET WOULDN'T SOMEONE HAVE DIAGNOSED PNEUMONIA AND WOULDN'T THE KITTEN HAVE BEEN SICK IN-BETWEEN WITH (FEVER, COUGHING, ECT...) I THINK SO THE AUTOPSY STATED NO FELINE DISEASE AND NOT ANYTHING CONCLUSIVE THAT WOULD STATE IT HAD THE PNEUMONIA DURING THE 9 DAYS SHE HAD THE KITTEN.... IT JUST DON'T ADD UP, I DON'T KNOW HOW OR WHERE SHE KEPT THE KITTEN. ALL I KNOW IS IF YOU HAD A KITTEN THAT HAD PNEUMONIA FOR 10 DAYS YOU WOULD KNOW THE BABY WAS SICK.

BELOW IS WHAT HER AUTOPSY STATED AND ALSO THERE WAS NO BLOOD WORK AT ALL.

The inflammation is compatible with response to acute bacterial sepsis but THE CAUSE IS NOT APPARENT MICROSCOPICALLY.

The thymus atrophy suggests SOME DEGREE OF IMMUNOSUPPRESSANT WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN A PREDISPOSING FACTOR FOR SEPSIS.

a cause of the atrophy IS NOT APPARENT AND THE LESION IS NOT SPECIFIC.

Differentials are response to STRESS OR IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE VIRUSES.

The lesions are NOT consistent with feline Infectious Peritonitis.
