Just curious to see where everyone found their fur babies at. And how long it took you to find the perfect one. Also, how far was the drive there? I'm still looking for my special one, but chances are she'll come from the pound or a rescue.

Well Calista my Chinese Crested was froma local breeder-- she brought Calista to me at my workplace then-- ( yes i had visited her house-- i was on a 2 yr long waiting list!)
Dobber was imported from Holland-- that was one long flight
Shade is from a local breeder and my kitten Peant Butter Toast was a throw away ( thrown out a car window at 2 weeks old with his mom and sisters in pouring rainstorm in a flooding ditch, ive had him since he was 4 weeks)
Our mixed breed Bowen is from our local humane society. WE got him when he was bout 3 months old.
Our labrador retreiver is from a breeder in Montgomery Alabama. It took months of decision making before we finally decided to go with Riddick. At one point we even put a deposit (and not a small one) down on a Newfoundland, but decided against it in the long run. We're thrilled with pur lab. He's one of the best dogs I've ever had.
Zimus & Novia came from a breeder here in OKC. He actually lives not too far from me. They came out of a good line. If anyone wants to look it up it's Kossok's Siberian Huskies. Google it :)~ (They have Kossok bloodlines)
snowball (the dog)was a presant only had him a week then he got hit by a car. I was four.
Snowball (the cat) AKA Ball Ball was out of the cat across the street from my aunt and my cousins male cat Doopy. We called her Ball Ball because her grandmothers name was snowball. I got the white kitten and my other cousin got a black kitten he name fluffy. fluffy had the smarts of their father. they both liked to lay in the driveway under the tires of parked cars and both got ran over because of it. I was six or seven when I got her. She got also got hit by a car, but it was out in the road like all the other country cats. Both kittens were older cats when they passed on.
these ones are dogs:
fuzzy was a christmas presant. RIP
precious came from a neighbor whose mom was supposabley allergic to her but they had a Dobie. RIP
first found kelly then my mom made me take him to the shelter. got him back at the end of his stray time. RIP
Hazelton was a service dog for CCI now lives in CA. not sure if she is still a live or not.

Turtle came with my husband who got her from his dad who took her away from his nephew because he wasn't treating her good. RIP
Then Gumbo, Zydico, Zatarain, and Langniappe came from local breeders.
these are the cats in Oregon:
Frisky came from a church friend who had a litter of kittens. RIP
Tigger came from some school freinds who were moving and didn't want to take her to their new home fearing she would be hit by cars. RIP
Baby was 2 1/2 weeks old when i found her. RIP
Pumkin and Holloween were found on our front steps. RIP
Richard (RIP) and Mika were 3 1/2 weeks old and rescued from a research lab were their section was being closed.
Midget was born to a stray cat in a neighborhood where a friend was doing some painting. I seen her and had to have her she looked just like baby just with longer hair. Hince the name midget.
I got midget a week before going to get Hazeltown in CA then a week after I got back I got....
Holly was broght in to the vet clinic at PetSmart well I was working in the Grooming department. She was only a couple days old. still had her umbilical cord.
The last cat is coffee he was my cousins cat, but they were moving and didn't have enough for the pet deposit. so we ended up keeping him.

my male frenchie came from missouri ( FLIGHT ) my female frenchie came from russia ( flight ) both were purchased from breeders my gsd, who is now ten years old, was a pup that i kept from a litter i had bred.
I got Nala from a breeder in PA. I wanted a dog ever since I was 6, but I had allergies. But in March of 2004 I started to look for a dog, and came across a breeder, and asked my mom and she said ok, but I had to pay for her and her stuff. So on July 3rd 2004 I got Nala.
Harleys Mama, you should have addded that when you got your last baby, you dind't know he came from a "came from a sketchy not so good Millsman. " -) None of us is perfect, we all make mistakes, and it's imposible to resist a cute face.
