Yesterday on my way home from work I stopped by the Dog Pound, and found the cutest puppy.
She is about 8 weeks old, her and her sister and two brothers were dumped there without their mom at 7 weeks old. She is so tiny and think she is a little younger then 8 weeks cause she fits in the palm of my hand, almost with her legs dangling. She is a Shepherd mix. While she looks pure german shepherd, her siblings look more like a lab or something. The kennel people said she should be about 45 pounds as an adult because they are so small now, but their feet look pretty big. 45 pounds is about 15 pounds smaller then my preference, but fits well with my boyfriends wants. I want to make sure she is something that my boyfriend would want also so were going to discuss it today when he gets off and probably go get her today or tomorrow, hopefully she is still there. :D

How exciting! When I was in first grade my mom and I went to the pound for the tour that they give.. they had a petting zoo and all... and I fell in love with a beagle/GSD mix puppy. We went home, talked to Dad about the situation, and went back up there with Dad. It sounds so much like your situation!
We brought Buffy home that very day and she was with us for 20 years. Couldn't have asked for a better dog. We actually grew up together.
Let us know how it works out!

I went to see if she was still there yesterday and she wasn't there. I'll keep looking. I'm still planning on going to a shelter for a puppy. Does anyone know of any dog pounds especially the kill shelters in Ohio? I'd rather adopt a puppy from a shelter where it is needs the most rescuing.
aww, that stinks that she wasnt there. But its great that you are thinking about adopting a dog/puppy from a kill shelter, there the ones who usually need the most help. There should be more people like you in this world :)
