We made the mistake of letting Riley chase one of the cats the first week we got him. I haven't been able to get him to stop ever since.
I've tried the command "no chase" but I think he takes that as "yes, chase"... because this morning my dad let him in from going potty and said no chase, and he started running down the hall looking for the cats.
I've tried simply telling him no and holding him back, that hasn't worked either because as soon as I let him go he will run down the hallway.
Then the other day when he got close enough to my kitty Meera he tried to lay on her. Which isn't good since he is 65lbs and she's only 9lbs lol.

thunder used to chase my cats relentlessly when he was a puppy. nothing in the world would make him stop until my cat decided one day to turn around and beat the tar out of him. which she will still do to this day just to remind him who's in charge.
now with salty we had to do something different. given the breed she is we had to get it thru to her that these cats were MY cats. an anatolian is supposed to guard what is theirs or what the alpha deems is theirs. so once i was bale to convince salty that these cats were mine and in no uncertain terms not something for her to attack we have had peace in the house. she still has some funny ideas sometimes on just how cats should behave in the house but at least now they can walk past her and even rub up against her and she isnt annihilating them.
