lisa i am sorry you do not like the rules here. according to the administrator of this site links to other pet forums are prohibited. i did not make the rules up. i left the two websites you had up that show pics of your cats. the only two i deleted were links to pet forums. you deleted the other two yourself.
as for popes comments, your comments to this board, which you have now deleted, about "sitting on our wide butts" were not exactly respectful in nature either.
if you want your name blocked from this forum i can easily do that. just let me know.

Yes, I said "wide butts" because I know of what I speak. I've got one, a very wide one, I make no secret of it. But that was ONE thing out of all of my posts and it wasn't directed at any one person in particular. It was a generalization.
I counted at least six in pope's response to me. I also went through the responses to Jen and found quite a few to her. And I don't think it was so amazing that someone posted that acme link here (surprising that you left that one intact). There are a few snakes over at Acme and I'm sure it was one of said snakes and troublemakers who posted the link here. But I don't think it was an Acme snake who trolled the Acme board.
It would appear that the "rules" are up for interpretation. I don't like the translation, as is my right.
So, yes, I do believe I'd like you to remove my name from your membership roster.
I never realize how many people in the world are out in left field.
The numbers are staggering when it comes to homeless pets, I don't to tell any of you that. It's a sobering number even hard for me to compute.
I put a kitten into a VERY GOOD home. Would have been rescued?... I can't say either way. All I can say is what I know and that at the shelter 2 kids were throughing pebbles at Daisy so she would look at them so they could laugh at her eyes! I asked to have her removed and put in the crate I brought so she wasn't subject to that BS anymore.
I wouldn't do it any different and MOST DEFINATELY not ashamed of how I did it!!
I didn't get a chance to read the posts that lisaviolet left, but from what I can see, she needs to be rescued!
Oh how mean and cruel. I wonder what the parents would have said if they saw it. Makes you wonder what kind of home the poor animal will have if get's adopted by thhat family. And what's even more ironic, is that the parents of those mean kids will probaby have no problem adopting a pet. Go figure.
funny you say that Harlee, I thought the same thing while we were waiting there.
The pebbles were small - just big enough to get the attention of the cats, but I thought geez, enough already. They were adopting a small baby kitten and the mom (no dad present) saw the boys doing that and said nothing. That's when I interupted and asked if I could put Daisy in our crate. The mom said "oh, I'm sorry is that your new cat?" (((((I could not be sarcastic at all, given the circumstances))) but I was thinking, Yeah it's my cat!!! Would it have made a difference if it wasn't??????? Does it make it wrong because the cat belongs to some one???? UGGG! But I managed to muster up a small grin of acceptance that it was indeed my cat instead.... OH I hated keeping my tongue tied!!!

I know Mafia... but I do want people to think long and hard about this if they do it. I felt bad that good people are put in that position to even think to do it. My friend couldn't bring herself to ask me... GOOD thing I offered before she could ask!!
Harley, I give you a lot of credit. I'm not sure if I could have kept my mouth shut, but itt's probably best that you did. The Shelter may have seen you an as "unfit" person to adopt."
Mafia, yes, it's true that it's so easy to lie on a shelter adotion form, or any adoption form for that matter. I rememeber one of the things they asked me if I was planning to use her for experiments. Of course, I wasn't, but for someone who does do thse horrible things to animals, it's so easy to just say no, because you know that's hat they want to hear.
Harley, you told a white lie or the benefit of the cat's well being. I think there's a huge difference :-)

No I'm not pro lying to get the animal.. but some of the rescues are starting to look like hoarders. One set of rules, and if for some reason you don't fit their mold no matter how perfect you are, no animal.
I've known perfect families turned away, and animal abusers adopted to. It makes me sick..
The right people being transparently honest..
And the wrong people answering all questions in the manner wanted. Are you going to declaw? *look of horror* oh most certainly not.. will it live outside.. We wouldn't do that..
Just FYI - I am NOT a hoarder. Nor am I crazy. Nor is there anything in my home that would put me on the news if the "animal cops" did come in.
I am not a collector. I am not "over the top". I am not looking for reasons to say no to an adoption.
As a matter of fact - I placed one adult cat and a pair of kittens on Sunday... and on Saturday I placed a Pit Bull mix and a Lhasa.
I did, however, deny four applications for kittens - two of them wanted to declaw the kitten and two of them wanted to let them go outside.
So, it is my expert opinion that the three that got great homes is a whole lot better than the seven that could have been coyote food or mutilated for the sake of the furniture.
I get on a soapbox often when people try to circumvent the rescue rules. I do this because I CARE about the animals and the rules are there for a very good reason. It's just not fair when people take so much time and energy to raise a little kitty and make every effort to find that kitty a good home only to have self-centered know-it-alls fabricate stories and break the law for their own gain.
I should have known that a board with a "breeder login" in the upper right corner would not be rescue-friendly.
You guys continue pumpin' out the puppies and the kitties and creating your own rules for adoption - and myself and others like me will continue to pick up your mess when they are dumped on the streets or at the shelter months from now.
Best of luck to you magoo and all the work that you do.
I do believe that down deep you do have the animals best interest at heart. It's just too bad you cast a shadow over that caring with ugly statements that seem to flow effortlessly out of your mouth. You ask for respect, yet give none back. You seem like a bitter individual that doesn't really want nor look toward resolution and harmony. Very sad to say the least.
