Little Lady, how old is your puppy? How long have you had him/her? How in the world can you be board with a puppy? What type of puppy do you have? If your puppy is older than 3 months start teaching him to sit, stay, come, leave it, these are all good commands he should learn and learning can be fun. You can get a big ball and roll it for the puppy and before long he should be chasing the ball and bumping it with his nose or paws and making it roll further away from him so that will make him chase it some more and pushing it some more. Get a tennis ball and roll it and have him get it and bring it back to you, tell him fetch and than down the road when you want to play fetch with a stick or something he will understand. Get him a stuffed squeaky toy and watch him attack it, bite it and tear it apart (if he is like most puppies):) Once you teach him to stay you can play hide and seek. You tell him to stay, you go hide then call him and he should come looking for you! Are there any other dogs in your neighborhood that you and your puppy could go visit? Puppies need to be socialized. If there aren't any pups close by do you have a dog park to go to? I am sorry but I am just amazed someone could be bored with a puppy! They do so many silly things on their own. A great bonding thing to do is brush your pet, the earlier you start this the better they will like it also fuss with his/her feet to get them used to that. These may not seem like games to you but you are teaching your dog a lot of good habits and the bonding is a wonderful thing to have between you. The more you fuss with him the more he will want to be around you because he will associate you with good things and he will know you give him attention but please remember puppies do need to have naptime during the day so make sure you allow him to have that time too.
Thank you! I am not really bourd with her. I just happened to be bourd becouse I stopped playing and sat down to type this up! Lol! Thank you again for the ideas. She is a eight week old Chihuahua, a lot of fun! Just earlier she went running around the house dragging her leash while the cat hid behind things and jumped at her leash when she ran by. It was very funny. I will get out our giant bouncy ball though becouse that sounds like fun! Thank you! Me http://www.dogster.com/?175135
I was going to say hide and seek too! Fun game to play. And it helps you bond with your dog. I play tug o war with my shep. mix, but your baby is probably too small for that right now. I made sure she knew leave it really well before we started this game. You can even make a game out of teaching leave it. Actually any training can be made a game. My dog lights up when I get the clicker and treats out. She just loves it! If you don't know about clicker training, look it up online. Its a great way to train your dog and they really become very animated with it. :) Have fun!
Maybe try some agility with her. I made my own little agility course when Riley was a baby. he jumped on the stools then over, went through a kiddy tunnel, etc. It was alot of fun :) Now he's moved onto the REAL stuff.
He also LOVES hide and seek, or when I hide his toys and he has to go find it. Your pup really needs to stay when told for that though.
I usually play tug-o-war with my puppy and also fetch. She can chase after that ball and bring it back for hours straight. The hide and seek game sounds interesting, but my dog follows me every step of the way and also has EXCELLENT hearing and we're still training her in commands like stay. Maybe when she grows up, we'll try that!
