Thanks, supermommy. But if it DOES come to that, I WILL leave this place (my lease is up at the end of June).... It's really crappy...I've been a good tenant for 3 years now, and they're willing to put me out b/c of this. There are two other "bully breeds" that live in surrounding units, yet their dogs are not being considered for removal on "management's discretion."
This is what happened to my hubbys friend ,it was either he gets evicted because of the type of breed Tigger is or give her up. He gave her to us . His land lord would not allow him to keep her.It really up sets me how innocent dogs are being punished because of stupidity. So many are losing their lives.
I had a stipulation on my last lease that would not allow: pit bulls, german shepards, rottweilers, or any other dog breed thought of as aggressive. My hubby and I have discuss owning a pit bull, even thought my son was bit in the lip by one 2 years ago. We just think they are beautiful. We are waiting for everyone to grow up a bit first. 4 young kids and 2 dogs are nearly too much for me as it is. After housebreaking and toilet training have ended I am sure that a pit would not be too distant in our future.
"The reason I am worried is because many times at night I hear yelping and growling from there house. I am pretty certain they are fighting dogs. Dogs are constantly tied, and no one is ever out there spending time with them. One day the kids who live in the house were playing out of range of 5 dogs that were tied in the yard. Two of the dogs acted like they may play(bowing and wagging and barking) The other three were growling and not seeming at all like they wanted to play. " supermommy, if you suspect that the pits are fighting pits, you need to report ur supision because like you said, if they do get off their chains then who knows who they might attack! i'm not saying all pits are fighting dogs...i'm just saying that if u suspect that they are used for fighting you should report it.
I have reported it. The county came over and aske that I call as soon as I hear anything else. The problem is that when they came to investigate they left a notice saying they came by. The time they came is the only time I had ever seen only two dogs out. One was the bitch and the other was her female pup. Probably soon to be bred. The animal control officer heard other dogs inside, but could not see anything. They have very dark mirrored tinting on all their windows. To the point, since the notice was left they have move the dogs out of their house. I think it scared them. So, the fighting is probably taking place somewhere else now. I still check in to be sure the female looks okay. When they bred her last year you could see her hips it was really horrifying. The officer asked me to call as soon as I see anything worthy of her coming again. She suppects fighting because I live in a neighborhood that is known for that type of activity.
