I'm with you Pearl on the names. I do know two of Josh's names are kennel names. Darbydale is a famous Newf Kennel, and so is Pouchcove. A lot of times, when there's a breeding that involves 2 kennels, all the puppies have to have part of both kennels in their name. And since AKC names are limited to 27 or 29 spaces, that doesn't leave much room for anything else. I'm told when we get our Newf, his name will have to have Moonfleet in it somewhere, and the breeder may or may not request that all the puppies be 'themed'. For example, I know that one litter theme was angels, so there might have been a MOonfleet's Angel Eyes, and a Moonfleet's Heavenly Angel, or whatever. All I know is that our future Newf's call name will be 'Sully', from the big furry guy in Monster's Inc.
Good luck trying to figure it out. I like to think of myself as a pretty smart guy :) but i'll be damned if I can make up from down of this. http://www.danesonline.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=show_thread&om=637&forum=DCForumID15&viewmode=all Frankly this thread confused me more after I read the first post and it went down hill from there :)
You can call your dog whatever name you want, but the idea behind kennel names is to just know a dog's name and know the quality of dog it is and line it's from. So regardless of what the kennel name is for your Bichon, I'm sure you can fit frosty or coconut in the name, and even if you can't, you can still call it bythat name. =)
