A bit is okay, remember its starchy so don't let her get a bread addiction or you have a tubby kitty, grin.
For any pet, cat or dog make sure they don't consume to much bread. Dogs have been known to seriously injure themsleves or kill themselves by ingesting huge amounts of bread or dough and having it rise in their stomachs. Bread swells and can cause bloating and just lots of ickyness.
A bit, a bite, a peice is fine, but if you have a bread hungry one, keep it in the fridge.
Well my cat used to eat bread, the story is he would see us eating turkey sandwiches and he would always want one. We kept our bread in the bread box and he would always open it up, take the bread in the bag, and open it up looking for the meat, so he would eat the bread and search for something that wasnt there, we hadnt realized what was happening until we found 10 half full bags that my cat ate behind our microwave. But hes still alive and ok. We just keep our bread in the fridge from now on.
My elderly neighbor gives my miniature schnauzer the heel of the bread, got her in the bread habit.
Mrs. MacKenzie is such a good girl about people food that I was amazed that she would steal an entire loaf of fresh-baked bread from the Bosnian bakery up the street!
She likes bread, but she will only steal the Bosnain bread FROM THAT LOCAL BAKERY. If it's not fresh, she doesn't care.
LOL, I just read this and thought that I should clarify that I buy the bread from the bakery and the dog has stolen it out of my kitchen. She doesn't walk up the block and stick up the bakery for bread!
