:( I miss the old T.P. The one that amused me every time I came here...where people shared intelligent conversation about their pets, pictures and cute stories. I used to come here every night and laugh, smile, and the stress from my life just lifted away. Where obi posted silly sarcastic coments adding comic relief to rather heated, but polite discussions. I was always laughing and my husband was always making fun of me because of my addiction. I'm sad to say that recently I've been discouraged...I think a lot of us here have been. We have a wonderful community here of kind, animal lovers who are intelligent and have a lot of very good things to say. I miss the old timers who used to post...now they don't anymore because they feel they're wasting their time talking to brick walls. I don't know what the solution is, but just thought I would let my frustration out. Unfortunantly you can't make people behave as adults, some teenagers behave better than adults (thank you Shadow, Hector and all you teens out there who have proven your maturity). I wish there was a solution. Maybe it will get better. I hope so.
I have been a member for quite a while....not sure how long but it will show you if you look to the left. Anyway all of this fussing and troll activity happens once every few months and then dies down again. So just hold on guys we will get back to "normal" if there is such as thing.
Yeah, I don't really remember a long period of time without trolls, they just happen. And I really don't even mind so long as they don't take up the whole first page and people are still responding to legitimate posts. I think a lot of people kind of enjoy the entertainment (me too sometimes) and this is shown by how many replies they generate. I'm sure not going to tell people not to respond-- that goes back to my pet peeve about being told how I should react to a post. I'm a big girl, can decide for myself whether I want to play with a troll or whether I want to skip the post, as we all can do.
Like last night, it was funny to me, because it doesn't make me mad. I guess it's entertaining the way the silly court shows like Judge Judy are. And I read along on the troll posts, occasionally added. But I also read a lot of good legit posts, answered a bunch, saw lots of cute pet pictures, etc. Not a bad night on TP, IMO.

Ginger I know exactly how you feel. I rarely post here anymore not only because my life is so busy nowadays but because things have changed so much here. I also used to be addicted to this place and I had a lot of fun chatting with everyone here but everything just got so crazy and so many rules had to be enforced (which I understand totally)but it kind of made TP less of a friendly-attractive place if that makes any sense?

Hey I am new here and I came for some advice from people who been where I am now. But I bet thatís why most of the older members joined also. You need to give the newbies a chance to get settled in and feel at home. Some of us are shy and really want to contribute to this virtual community but just need to warm up first. Like ask a few light questions and put in her 2 cents in here and there. If the neighborhood suits us we just might buy a home and join the PTA.
