I just got this new puppy Chihuahua and he wont play and wont eat his treats. All he does is sit in people's laps and sleep. Is this a problem? Or will it pass after a few days? I'm hoping he's not going to be like this forever.
wow, i wish my dog was still like that instead of getting in my face all the time. when i got him he just sat on his towel all day. He didn't even dare go to the other rooms. He couldn't even make a noise. It took him about a week to build up the confidence to speak.
Our Chihuahua is a rescue dog, we got her out of a bad situation. It took her some time to warm up to new people. She was very dependent upon us in the beginning. She would hide under the couch when someone would come in the house, but that comes from being abused and kicked around.
Now, I am happy to report, Abby has come out of her shell, so to speak, and loves almost everyone. She does not cower, under the couch anymore.
Your dog is very young and yes, puppies do sleep alot. They are growing and it's a hard job being a puppy.
Do you have any pictures of your Chihuahua? Is she on www.dogster.com? What color is she/he? Our is a long hair black and white Chi.
Basset_Lover - Thanks for your advice and its a tan long hair chi with a black snout, kinda looking like short stubby baby doberman cause his ears aren't erect haha. its quite cute. I dont have a picture at the moment, but Im going to get a camera soon and ill take a picture and post it.
Pope1982 - Thanks that releived me from my worries a bunch. I'm just a worrywart when it comes to dogs.
Codys mom - Well the person i got it from said it was a bigger chihuahua so i thought oh it must be full grown, maybe she meant in weight or something? cause he does seem kinda chubby. But yea, now im stuck with a pup.
