well, i'm not sure about the breed, but i've been here for a couple days now and have heard that it's best around 5 months, cuz around 6 they can become sexuialy mature. If i'm wrong i'm sure someone will correct me :) but you should always ask your vet. hope it helped! :)
My female boxer will be 5 months old on the 19th of this month. She is going to be spayed on the 21st of this month. My vet said anywhere between 4 to 6 months is about the right time to have your dog spayed.
I just got my Dalmatian boy done yesterday at 19 weeks. I thought they 'had' to be 6 months old but for males, as long as their balls have dropped and developed fully, they can get done! The vet actually did his Bulldog at 3.5 months because he was fully developed!
With our pet quality dogs, the pups are altered before they leave our program, generally at 8-10 weeks. I know that sounds early, but the literature is saying that there is no benefit in waiting if the dog is healthy and the vet is able to do the procedure. They do great, bounce back quickly, and we don't have to worry about alteration agreements being carried out. Haven't lost a puppy yet...they're fat and sassy, and ready for luv! Of course, ours are large breed pups and yours is not, and that may affect the timing somewhat. I would err on the side of caution and have them done at 5 months...that way you don't risk them getting in season early as happens occassionally.
