Thank you for posting that.I'm from La.It has been hard though both hurricanes. One of our local news crews done a story after Katrina. There was pigs on roofs,a horse on someones porch.Dogs and cats everywhere.I was heartbreaking. I pray that the owners can find there pets.Or the animals can find good homes.
Where in Louisiana are you from? I am also from there however I am stuck in Houston until power gets turned back on in 6-8 weeks! I am one of the lucky ones who got out of there before it was bad and didnt get stuck leaving my pets behind.
I am in Sabine Parish. We just came home Thurs. WE were without power til' then.We went to Natchitoches w/ our pets, to my brother-in-laws. I was too hot and sticky to stay w/ no power! Were you from? We are on of the lucky ones. Both of my neighbors have trees on their houses .
Thank you.I wish the best for you. I love N.O.!!!!!! I have worked with a local danceline for 9 years now. Every spring we come down for competion. Its the girls favorite. Between routines we go to the Rivewalk, for lunch and ice cream. We got to get the Big Easy on its feet again, cause we are coming in April! =)

I live in Starks in Beaugaurd Parrish which is right at the border of Louisiana and Texas. I'm glad your house is safe. I still havent made it home yet to find out if mine is intact. My neighbors say that the eye went right over where we live so there was little damage done to the area and the only damage they see to my house is my front porch is sitting in my rose bed. I finally got ahold of them again today to tell them where I hide my keys so they can go and check on things inside. I originaly came to Houston to go with my family to Dallas to escape the storm but it was next to impossible to get out of town with all the traffic so we decided to wait out the storm and then wouldnt you know it decides to go in a different direction and hit my house which I thought was safe! Anyway I feel very lucky to be alive with a place to stay and to have my pets with me.
Thank you very much. I'm sure my house is OK and if it is not then I can rebuild. Its all material, the most important thing is I'm alright, I have my dogs and my family is alright. I just wish all the others who lost lives, loved ones and homes could have been as lucky.
