OK I should preface my messages about Faith with a disclaimer...LOL She is a laid back Corgi. I amvery lucky to have the best of her breed with a great trait like being laid back. I assume they are out there and would recommend picking a pup that is not too timid but definitely not agressive and overly hyper. BUT THAT'S ME! People have met Faith and said she is cyber puppy or the mildest pup they have ever met. Others say, "what's wrong with her" since she is so laid back. I feel blessed cuz I couldn't take anything too hyper but I love this breed. The reason I named her that is because I was so scared of getting a pup having5 kids, 2 cats and chemical depression! I needed a miracle pup! I did pray a lot over this decision and POOF there she was. She has been wonderful and very therapeutic for me. The corgi breed is beloved and I can see why. I am glad though that my corgi has an "uncorgi" characteristic like this. After all I am only one person! I don't know if I could have handled just any dog!
My new dalamtian is more laid back than I expected. She runs around the yard and plays, but she is not overly energetic like I was expecting. We owned a boston terrier who was so laid back we were worried about him. He was a couch potato at 6 months. It bothered me at first, I thought something was wrong with him. Then, I was happy to have a puppy that wasn't in everything and running around the house like a psycho. My moms dog was this way, it made me really appreciate him.
i can totally relate. our puppy scout has always been a couch potato since day one. i too thought there was something wrong with her. she does play and when she does she plays hard but when she is in the house she prefers to spend her time sleeping on the couch or chewing a bone.i have never had a pup that was so calm. our 6 year old chow mix is like the ebergizer bunny still to this day. believe me i'll take couch potato anyday !!
Faith is a big ole lazy butt! She lays around sleeping most of the time! When she does go out she is constantly tricking the dog next door to do the entire run of the fence while my Faith sits and watches having stopped half way! She only gets excited when she has a chance to herd the cats! She gets tired on too long of walks and sleeps HARD all night from like 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. only waking cuz I get her up. She'll play whenever you want but isn't really going of her way you know? AH that's my girl!
