________________ Have to say... it is nice to know there are a lot of people who love animals and are willing to stick it out.... After all the stuff we all hear about .. puppy mills, abused and neglected .... you begin to think hardly anyone cares.... While it still is bad... at least we got to see that during a huge and terrible event... people care..._____________________
If they would come to my house to pick them up. I have about 25 crates I would simply give to them! I have a bad habit of collecting animal crates at the flea markets when I see one for $5.00 or $10.00! I have dogs, crates, cat crates, bird cages and more then I care to list!
And I bought them all year long last year when I had the money to go to the flea market! LOL! I keep a few in my house for my 3 dogs but would be happy to clean my back yard out! They are all clean and ready to go! LOL!
Every now and then I have a back yard animal cage yard sale.
I really cant help it, if I see a good deal I trip over myself trying to put the money in their hand for MY stuff! LOL!
This weekend petsmart is having an annual adoption weekend. If I have my car maybe I can take some over there to donate to those who do adopt a dog and volenteer there. I know that would save adopters alot of money on buying a crate that is required when adopting a dog here.
Someone STOLE my husbands JIMMY BLAZER last friday morning so I have no means of hauling the LARGE crates there.

Please read!!! We are in need of volunteers who can donate their time and or equip, or both for the animal rescue effort going on in the City of New Orleans. We are average American citizens that can no longer stand to watch the revolting images on our TV screens, our hearts are breaking. We are teachers, veterans, housewives, you name it. We are driving into Nashville, TN Saturday morning to leave for Memphis to pick up supplies at the Memphis Humane Soc. (in our cars, SUV's etc). Then we will be leaving that day to go down to the LA Humane Society and Bestfriends Animal Society in Tylertown, MS to volunteer, which is where the animals being rescued out of New Orleans are being taken to. We spoke to the pres of the LA Humane Soc. and they are welcoming us with open arms. The people down there are exhausted and need some relief. We need large trucks and boats if any one can drive them straight down. Also building supplies, fencing, and the skills to build etc are needed. There are many animals that due to the standing water have not even been able to be reached due to lack of enough boats. The call for boats is tremendous, we need help. Gas is now available down there, but you will need to bring all of your own personal supplies, such as a tent, waders, boots/gloves, water, food, no elec or water.
Any donations of pet supplies are needed as well.
Keep up the pressure with your emails, phone calls etc until we can get our government to assist this effort. You may contact myself Donna Ferguson at 757-286-2710 or 252-232-0826 and you may also contact Kim Chambliss at 615-426-3092 or 615-793-3092 for details. Please help us. email@example.com UPDATE: THERE IS A WAREHOUSE IN MEMPHIS, NEED HELP FROM MEMPHIS AREA TO COMMUTE DOWN TO TYLERTOWN, MS. IT IS ALL FOR DOGS AND CATS THOUGH, WE NEED PEOPLE TO BRING SMALL MAMMAL / REPTILE / BIRD SUPPLIES TOO.

I just wanted to say, that the Coast Guard well at least the helocopter crews have NOT been turning our canine companions away. we have a basket called the multi jointed basket that the rescue swimmer will sit in and place a rescue strop around the dog and hoist them.
