Have you tried Frontline? I use it on my dog once a month and I've never seen a tick on her. It can be used on puppies 8 weeks of age and up. It's probably your safest bet. It does take a bit for it to start working. Another thing you probably need to do is treat your environment. The reason you are probably still seeing them is that you have a pretty bad infestation in your yard. Call your local exterminator and tell them you have a tick problem. They can come out and spray for you. Also you can ask your vet if they carry any yard sprays. Ours did and I think a lot of places do. If you used the shampoo it only kills the ticks that were on the dog, but the frontline keeps working for a month. I think if you use a combo of treating environment and ongoing protection on the dog you will eventually solve your problem. It may take several treatments of the yard and I would keep the frontline applied at all times during peak seasons. Good luck! Those nasty boogers can certainly be a nuisance!
Buy Dawn dish washing soap and wash your dog with dawn. If you watch the commercial on TV you can see that they wash those birds with Dawn. It is safe, cheap, and very effective. For some reason a chemical in Dawn kills these pests. While washing your dog you can remove by hand these nasty critters or you can dry your dog and brush them off.
Continue washing your dog with Dawn for about one month just to make sure you are rid of them completely. Also call your exterminator, you must have an infestation problem.

Have you ever heard of Sol-U-Mel from Melaleuca. We love it! It is completely safe, chemical free for pets and humans and works for ticks, fleas and mostiqutos. (I've been told Dawn is not safe) We have been using it for so many other things. I can share if you are interesting in learning more. Also learn about the chemical in your household products and how they harm pets. I have some articles if you are interested
I have been using Dawn for years now and my dogs aren't dead. I even used it on a 7 week old puppy that my friend got from a BYB. He was the worst case I have ever seen in my entire life. When she took him home she used Dawn on him too and still does. He is not a puppy anymore and doesn't have any health problems.
