oh I am so happy. today after 4 months my male yorki was found. he was let out by an intruder on newyears. and we never found him, till today when an old neighbor of ours seen him walking down the sidewalk. well come to find out another neighbor had found him after he was hit, took him to the vet and decided to keep him! well after we got him, and were going to take him to my moms the cops came to my apartment and said that this other lady ( the one who kept him) was saying that she lost her dog. and they had to take him over there to see if he was hers. but becuse she said her dog was hit 2 years ago, and had a shatterd pelvis, that he had a limp. the cops said that she had to show them papers from the vet, from before my oliver went missing. well she didnt have them! so then she tried to say that we had stole him from her a year ago. but the cops said her storie didnt add up, so they brought him back here. I showed them the tons of pics, and the papers I got from the breeder, and the akc registration application (never got it sent out) so the cops said he was my dog. I was so happy. I have been so lonely with out him. and when we got him back the first time he was all tangaly, like they never brushed him, the mats on his belly are really bad, and he had sticks in his fur, and paint. and he had like rabbit poop in his beard, and he was really stinky. so tommorow I am grooming him from top to bottom. one good thing came out of this thought, the lady had kids and now he just adors my 9 month old son. and my son, shane loves him. its so cute to see oliver give shane a face washing
i'm so glad you got ur pup back :) seems to me that lady is a lil cracked...i mean why lie bout something you can't prove? people never cease to amaze me of the stupid things they do....or the kind things, but the stupid ones seem to stand out more....lol but anyways...have you thought of puting in a chip, so if he gets away again you will be able to find him right away? i'm not sure how expensive they are but it does help out...at least that's what i've heard. :)
I am thinking about geting him tatooed. and neuterd. he was so tierd when al this was over. he tried to fall asleep, but my moms big dog zoe, a dobe setter mix just woulnt leave him alone, she missed him so much. but he was used to being around little dogs, she has 2 yorkies of her own, ( the lady that had him) so I guess I will just have to get him a little yorkie friend, maby a girl? (not to breed)
That's pretty cold about your neighbor trying to keep him! Have you offered to pay her back for the vet costs she paid for when he was hit by the car? I know I know, she kept the dog, but she pay for his vet care after he was injured. Two wrongs don't make a right. Since she already lied about it, make her provide the vet's bill. If she already had yorkies, maybe she wanted to keep yours for breeding. Get him neutered, you don't want him wandering off again. And definitely get some permanent identification on him, like a microchip.
some neighbor! i would definitely get a microchip. where i live there is a puppy rescue that will do it for anyone for $20. look around for somewhere that will do it for less if the full price is too much. that is the best way to keep this from happening.
