Do you guys think its a good idea to get a puppy use to being in a kennel enviroment so that way if you ever had to board your dog cause you go on vacation you know your dog will be ok?
I have 4 dogs, my 3 girls are use to being kenneled, but Hyde my 4 month old puppy isnt. I work at an animal hospital and we have boarding facilities. If I want I can bring my dogs to work with me for free, except they would have to stay in the boarding kennels. Im thinking of taking Hyde my puppy to work with me sometimes with one of the other dogs to get him use to being in a kennel enviroment incase i ever go on vacation.
good idea, or bad idea? Oh he is Up to date on all shots etc...
probably not a bad idea. i keep mine used to crates in case they ever need to be hospitalized, or kept calm from an injury/illness at home. every so often they take a na, or time out, or whwn I need ot relax they go in their crates.
i dont board, because the facilities remind me too much of the SPCA and my rescue dog would have a nervous breakdown being boarded more than 10 minutes. i hire a pet sitter to come into our home. but its always a good idea, IMO to have them used ot being crated/kennelled.
