I've been using tj's dog food for several years. We switched to it after using blue buffalo, and deciding we needed something healthy, but inexpensive. This bag is probably the best bang for ur buck at 20 pounds for $20. Definitely not "the best" but it is good and made mostly of meats and other good nutrients. It's an all stages dog foid, but if u want to add to it, it wouldn't hurt. My dogs all have healthy coats, teeth, and seem to have an inexhaustible amount of energy. They don't shed terribly, or have skin issues either. I'd love to get a healthier and yummier food for them, but I'm trying to take care of everyone in the family so this is a great buy for us.
My dog nearly died because i used to feed him Bakers. I was not aware that food with wheat could cause bloat. I've moved him to Barking Heads which when you check out the ingredients is in fact really good.
I do also mix a lot of cooked meat with it - and he loves it.
My Corgi is very sensitive to dog foods in general and I've gone through several different brands. They all caused severe upset.
I have found that Bench and Field sold at Trader Joes and it is perfect for her. She tolerates it very well and it seems to agree with her in every way imaginable. She is bright eyes, sharp, eager and energetic. I recommend that you try it and see if it works for you. We are on our 3 rd 6 lb bag. I believe it is $9.99 per bag. Wish I could find it in the larger size in our local stores.
