At what age does a medium sized dog typically go through teething? My 4 month old baby is having biting problems, and I'm not sure whether he's going through the end of teething or whether it's just a bad habit. He doesn't like biting on hard objects, only on things like...shoes -_-. If it is just a biting problem, besides bitter spray, what things can I do?
Sounds like he is starting to teeth. Have many toys avaliable. Every time he bites on something you don't want teeth marks on offer him one of his toys. Put bitter apple on furniture and other places you notice him teething. It should be over around 8 months.
Soak and freeze some wash cloths or clean rags. Make sure to provide some chew toys like nylabones, or even stuffed toys. Anything chewy should do the job. Make sure to brush the teeth often. It gives you a chance to check the teeth for new ones coming in or loose ones and can help them loosen some. Feeding kibble cleans the teeth and can help to loosen them. I read that Minniyar wrote in another thread that puppy teeth are grayish white and really sharp and adult teeth are pure white. Check to see how many teeth look like adult teeth. It shoul be an indication of whether your kids starting teething, in the middle, or at the end.
