to be honest ...i am really scared , but so excited. theres still 2 they came an hour apart. with the last one it seemed to be a little bit of yucky green stuff....so gross!!! i called the vet and he said give her a little time and if the yuckys get to be a bit much, he will meet me at the office. a little to much for me
the called was a man whos wife passed and it was her dog ( i dont know , but i didnt meet a wife) ( but ,iam not stupid)
I always see them holding the pup in both hands, face toward you and gently swinging them downward, head toward the floor, a couple of times and then suctioning them with a bulb syringe. I don't know if this is necessary, obviously lots of dogs give birth with no help at all. If they are breathing and nursing, I would assume they are ok. If not, that's what I would do based on what I've seen on tv.
Again, sorry, I'm no expert. Dont do anything you're unsure of unless you think you have a pup you're going to lose, anyway, if you don't try something. Good luck.
lalayla, the "caller "....she was a jerk.....but i cant help but wonder if the stress of her leaving her home and comming to her new home didnt help put her in to labor? not sure . i do wish i wasnt suck a sucker, but then again i am glad she is here instead of the pound.
lalayla, i said she because i think "she "put some one else up to calling me because"she" could not do it "her" self....... i dont think the wife passed i think it was a put on , to makle me feel bad enough to take the dog !!!! and it worked...but i have sence caught on ....to late!!!!
that is where ..'how i got sucked in " came from
tjruff...it has be very little grenn discharge ...and it is after the puppy

I'll bet by now you feel like the male character in a 50's movie, pacing while the wife has the baby in the next room.
Most of the time the puppies are just fine on their own without any help from us. They may be fussy for the first 3 or so days, make sure they are warm and weighing them to make sure they are gaining weight is probably a good idea. If you need to supliment them an ordinary baby bottle with a newborn or preemie nipple will work just as well or better than a puppy nurser. 2 cups of goats milk, 2 egg yolks beaten, 2 TBSP corn syrup, mixed and strained works well without causing puppies to scour.
I place a heating pad on low under one end of their bed (so they can choose to be on it or not) with a med section of newspaper separating it from the puppies so they can't overheat.
i will share pics , as soon as i can keep eyes open(lol)
i do strongly belive that all these puppies have a home, i only do rescue, and i do do back grounds and the whole 9 yards, but i have alot of pepole on a waiting list for maltese or maltese mix, it's just seems right that they dont want to pay 200.00 for a pound puppy, i soak up alot of the cost , just because.
i cant wait till moring to share pics.
i dont know if the are full breed ( mom is akc, i didnt take her papers) but it was shown to me, as far a dad, i how no clue.
