Hi In my fantastic book " the dog listener' she gains position of Alpha female by ignoring the puppy or dog each time they meet up for the first five mins, hard to do at first but it is what the alpha pack leaders would do to their pack. Seems to work with my puppy though i don't always manage the full five mins. Once the puppy has settled you can call them to you and make a real fuss of them. You have to remeber that you are in charge you call the puppy to you!! The dog growls at you cos she-he thinks that he she is Alpha!! Good luck
well, yes iam agree he is very much alpha dog....i try to muzzle squeez...tap his nose...and many more actions wat other trainer suggested me....tho sum improvement came out...like he used to growl at me whenever i hold him ...but he does it now occaisionally..sumtimes i hold him and he does not do anything...sumtimes i hold him and he growls and try to bite....he even growls at me when he finds the bone....he doesnt let me take his bone away from him......this is pretty alpha....plz advice how can i establish myself as dominant so that he wont do these things again...as he getting 10 weeks old now.
My dad's pup was just like that, he growled when you picked him up, was protective of food. But now, his a sweetie. At ten weeks, they are small enough for you to just insist that they don't get away with it by saying NO, redirecting them and making them earn everything, including petting. Teach some commands now, like sit, and make him do it a hundred times a day. It enforces your alpha role.
iam trying NILF and everything what i get from other ppl....i contacted a trainer...he said to gain ALPHA leadership just roll the newspaper and hit slightly on his head and say no whenever he does bad....and sit on knees and growl at him.....this procidure is working enuff on my rocky......what i need to ask are two questions.
1 : even prescribed by a pro trainer,is it ok to hit him with a news paper slightly on his head and sitting on knees and growl at him whenever he does bad?
2 : how to be a alpha leader and wat are the signs that a puppy gives when thinks you as his leader?
For one, he'll stop growling at you. You should be able to take away his bone or food anytime and he'll sit quietly and wait to get it back. He'll want to please you and look for your rewards. He'll obey commands. You might see him roll over on his back at times in submission to you. You shouldnn't force it though. Just keep on with the NILIF program.
