Geeze I have heard so many different stories about Chi ears....if they aren't up by 13 weeks they won't be, etc...etc... so really anyone with the real story who has had many many Chi's? What's the real scoop on the ears?
They can go up and stay up as pups, or they can go up and then fall down again while teething and then go back up later. They can stay down and not come up till 6-8 months or longer! I have a chi that has super huge bat ears! They did not fully go up till he was about 5 months old. I have had friends with ones that did not fully go up till almost a year so I guess it varies.
Don't give up hope! Sometimes it just takes time! I remember when his ears would go up and I would get all happy and then in a few days fall half way again! It was not until 5 months that they actually stayed up and that was that! I can see how that is annoying! Don't worry I am sure they will come up!
please don't worry about his little ear's beleive me teacup had one ear that flop down i ask the doctor will his ear ever stand up. doc said maybe not but you might like it that way. went home read my book , and it said when dogs are teething their ear's might flop down , then stand right back up after teething . the book was right teacup ear was standing up about two week's later.i laugh so hard when i saw his little ear up .but let me tell you guys something else to look out for .(double teeth ) i die laughing when i open his mouth and saw 2 little teeth on top of his other two front teeth .i wish i could had taken a picture of it but he would'nt let me . week later they fell out .and beleive me his little gums was sore . he kept rubbing his mouth on my hand. i dont' know what's next , i will tell you one thing for sure when we speak of them as our babies - wer'e right - ( bye ) i had teacup since he was 6wks old he's now 6mo and still teething ,want to see my hand. ha ha ha
Thanks for all your comments, I still have hope now for her ears to go up!! I read somewhere that if you massage them upwards that it might help, so every time she is sleeping next to me I massage her little ears!!
