Someone ever hands something like that to my kid and they'd better start running.....fast. Because that fish will have suffered a lot less than they will when I catch up to them.
I get that there are things to fight for in this world...and I accept that. I just don't want my children involved in their fights. They can pick their own fights when they are old enough to understand what they are fighting for.
I was at the fair here once and some !@#$%^&* runs my 5-year old down and starts telling him that gay people are bad and that they are sinners and that they will go to hell, etc, etc, etc. HELLO!!! My 5 year old son doesn't even know what 'gay' means!
I was taking a peaceful Sunday drive through town with my family one day last summer and there's a church group holding up anti-abortion signs. My problem with that?? They were pictures of aborted fetuses in full color blown up so that there was no way you could miss them. How am I supposed to explain those images to my kids? I wanted to run those people over with my car....and for the record...there is absolutely no way EVER (and yes I know all the possibilities) that I would EVER have an abortion...PERIOD. So, it's not that I'm against their message...I'm against their delivery.
I think PETA is really crossing the line with comic books aimed at children and using the concentration camps in their ads. I wouldn't support them if I won millions tomorrow. Not that I don't think animals should be cared for...but I hate their delivery and how far they'll go to force you to see it their way. They don't even think people should have pets? How many of them do you suppose owns one? They don't want animals used for research? I'd bet money that every one of them has used that research at some point in their life...medication, beauty products, etc. HYPOCRITS.
Just my opinion of course, and a strong one it is too!
as with any view, there are psople who take it to the extreme. for instance the people shaunna mentioned. while you agree with their message, would you ever join them in support of that message? probably not. we have the abortion people here too, with the 8 foot signs. in the center of town, adn along the main highway. i actually called the police once as they were bloking the exit to my work and i didnt think i could make it thru w/o a tussle.
back to peta... ithink alot of these people are wacky. way back when, man hunted to sustain life. so now we have cattle farms, but to the same end. its called the circle of life.
Absolutely unbelievable. I thought Penn & Teller's views were great - it really opens your eyes up to the PETA organization. I sure hope they all practice what they preach and shouldn't they all be vegans??? - something that is highly unlikely.
I would have to agree with Shaunna on the part about letting my kids grow up first before I shove a political view on them. PETA is the nasty old man sitting outside a kiddy park beconing kids to come inside the car for a piece of candy. It's just wrong
must say truly hate Peta, but them I'm really against anything that tries to take away rights and impose control over decisions I can make myself. Totally agree with Shaunna. I wonder if you can sue if they give this to your child?

I'm sure you could sue them...however, I tend to get just a tad (okay, a little more than a tad....mother bear ring a bell?) violent in the protection of my children. It's my job to protect them. It would be hard to sue once I shoved that comic book.....well, you get the idea! They'd be walking with a limp and I'd probably be the defendant at that stage. Might make me sound a little nuts...but when it comes to my children...I am!
