Yes, I have also thought of asking about taking her to the vet's. I will see if I can get that worked out. I will just have to see. It is a weird situation. I have to say, it has been nearly two weeks since we went and did some initial site prep stuff which is where I saw the little dog, and I am rather hoping that the next time I see her she looks better. Maybe. I mean, my screen name didn't come from nowhere... I remain ever hopeful. I can at least look at her good the next time and see what it really looks like now that I have read up on the stuff.
Hopesheltie I think that you should be able to tell him you do not feel comfortable with his dog around the new house if it is infected with mange. At the very least he could take her to the vet and see what kind it is. Until then if he does nothing (or if he is sorry) than that is not good for your new home or that poor dog! I would ask him that until your dog is mange free my home is not the place to be! I know you feel you cant be rude because of his love for his dog and how we all love our dogs. Yet I would think he would out of respect for your dogs and you paying for a new house not bring his dog around that has a disease that people and other pets can catch. Why should you worry about a new house and more bills for mange that you should not have to worry about. If he does not respect you enough to keep his dog out of your home while he is building I am sure there are other people that can build a home for you. I know it stinks, but if he only cares about his feelings and not yours than maybe he should not be buidling the home for you. That just upsets me! Like you need more stress on top of buying a new home!
