I am trying to find Chi-Ching a special collar. We are looking for a collar that has money on it or $$$ signs. We are getting him the day after tomorrow so I need to find one QUICK!!! (For those of you who do not know, Chi-Ching is a Chow puppy)
I would not put a flat collar on a Chow- that is asking for bad mats under the collar - I had a chow mix and this was a real problem. For a coated breed like a Chow, the best thing is a rolled leather collar. Not as pretty, but trust me, you will never see the collar anyway under all the fur.
Why don't you get a charm to hang from the collar as decoration, instead? That might actually show up better anyway. I bet you could find some costume jewelry in the shape of a dollar sign or something.
I did know that about the rolled collars. We already own one for him. The flat collar would simply be for when I take him to dog training. I may just go with the charm. I didn't think of that. How about a leash though? I would still like a money designed one.
i have 2 eskies and they have similar coats to chi ching, and i stopped using collars in the house altogether because of the breakage and matting they produce. once he is potty trained and no longer trailing a leash all the time, you may not want a collar at all in the house because it screws up the fur.
I use charms on my Eskie's collars. You can find all kinds of them at a craft store like Michaels and online. I also got a few from Build-A-Bear. With all of the fur Chows and Eskies have, the actual collar wouldn't even be seen. The charms are great! I love Chows. I have a Chow mix named Alex. Do you have a pic of your baby?
Katz....heck, use both! It'll get the point across...and all the stars wear more than one! haha I like them both. You could get a plain black flat leash and have someone embroider silver dollar signs on it to match those charms.
What about getting him a Cell Phone for his collar? LOL No, really...I saw it in a magazine., it's a tracking thing, and it's also a cell phone, so if someone finds your dog, they can hit a button and it calls you. Anybody else hear about that? What will they thnk of next...
