Flash, my 16 year old cat, has not been home in 3 weeks.. She's an outdoor/indoor cat, but she generally does not leave the yard. She had been sleeping a lot, and we have a feeling she just went into the woods and died peacefully.
Just thought I woould tell you, Since its been a very long time since I've posted, this news is really tearing me apart. She's been with us since before I was born. Its my brothers turn to have a pet now, so my mother is actually considering getting two cats from the shelter soon (One for her and one for him, since I have a puppy and a cat)
So, this is my news, sad as it may be. Here she is:
Sorry to hear about your cat. My neighbor has a cat about 3 years old who disappeared for 4-5 weeks, she did come back. She looked bad, broken leg and very thin, however; she did get better. I don't think she has left their yard since that incident.
sorry about your baby. my best friends cat was a little over 18 years old when she disappeared. it is heavily wooded behind nancys house and she thinks that she went off to die. they searched and searched, but never found her. she had a hard time dealing with the loss of her baby that she had had since she was 8 weeks old. again sooo sorry about your loss.
I had a friend who had a cat that was 12 years old. it came up missing for 2 weeks, they searched and could not find her... bout a mo. later they were moving some wood from a wood pile and noticed a hole.. they looked and found their cat. it had passed away, but chose that spot to go. sorry to hear about your cat. maybe with some luck it found a friend and followed it and got lost and may still return, however the age isn't a good factor. thats one thing i think is so had having pets is trying to figure them out.. its not like they can leave you a note, so instead we worry our little hearts out when something like that happens.
