That's right. Riley will have a new -most likely- sister in February/March sometime. I am SOOO excited I wish it was tomorrow! lol. Really I'd like to get one now rather than later, but the breeder won't have pups ready till then, and we still aren't settled into this house.
I've already started with the lists of things I'll need and a list of names. I think I like Jasmine or Layla. It's going to be another springer spaniel. She/he is going to be a 'free' pup. I paid for breeding rights for Riley but he was neutered, and his health guarantee covers chronic ear infection/allergies, so she's going to give me a 'replacement' puppy.
I absolutely can't wait. I know the time will go fast with Christmas coming and everything. Thanks for listening, I had to share!!!
:D I think Riley will be very jealous at first, but who knows. I was trying to pet another pup at his Halloween party and he immedietly got inbetween the two of us. Any advice on bringing the new pup home without causing any problems between the two? I think he'll be fine though, he'll have a playmate. He always wants to play with the cats but they will have no part of that.
Congratulations!! Hopefully, you will enjoy your second as much as your first. We got a second Min Pin to go along with Georgie and it has been a great decision. We had our days that we wondered and walking the dogs is harder with two than one and more vet bills but the joy they get out of each other is worth it. They are an energetic breed like yours and enjoy having another to chase and be chased by and to just wrestle around.
Hope Riley loves your new puppy!! It will be here before you know it.
Thanks! I know, I'm already anxious! lol. Riley's trainer has puppy kindergarten and puppy agility classes, I cannot wait to do that. Riley had an awful time in his puppy kindergaren class, with a different trainer, it's going to be fun this time :D
I think it will be somewhat easier this time, now that I know what I'm doing. I won't make the same mistakes as I did with Riley... like letting him pull me on the leash thinking it was cute...ahh! What a mistake lol
That's awesome!! Congratulations! Looking forward to pictures!! I'm sure she and Riley will become best buds. And you will have sooo much fun watching them play together! (not to mention run in your beautiful new york home....i'm still thinking about those pics of riley running with the fall colors all around him.....sigh.....oh, to live where there are seasons! lol!)
Tigger has been through 3 puppies ,and each one was thrown into the mix so to speak.Eventually they learn to get along.Just let them work it out.By the way the NYS change of seasons is beautiful, but I do hate the extreme cold and snow.My hubby loves it though, the more snow the better .I told him he should've been an eskimo.
I love NY in the spring, summer, and autumn. And I like it when the snow first starts to fall.... but that is about it. Once those plows come out and the snow turns black...yuckie! But it is beautiful seeing the mountains with snow on the treetops :)

Oh awww congratulations! Todd's sister is called Layla, its a really cute name. I laughed when you said you let him pull you on the lead thinking it was cute. I could just imagine him pulling as a pup but now when nearly fully grown it is not so funny!Make sure you get lots of pics when she arrives!
Well his mama isn't being bred for another year and a half, so no it won't be the same parents.
Usually with a replacement pup you do have to send it back, but the breeder said she would never make me do that. She's a very nice lady and is trying to help me out. She's already called the vet to find out what exactly is going on to see if it's something that came through her lines or not.. but none of his littermates or parents have these problems.
