I am appalled at what I've seen and heard about cruelty towards cats. Dogs and other animals are equally abused, but for some reason I've seen discusting attitudes towards cats. as if they are an inferior animal. Really, someone said they would have killed a cat over a scratching? I had a cat a few years back, great little girl, and she had developed an annoying habit of jumping on my back, lol. When I was pregnant, I was talking on the phone on the steps outside and she caught me off guard and jumped on my back. I slipped down the stairs. You didn't see me stuffing trhe cat in the laundry. My old neighbors had cats under their house (kittens that grew up) and he claimed the cats were scratching up stuff under the house...so he shot them. What kind of insane person klills an animal to get rid of the problem? That would never even cross my mind, never be an option. I'd just suck it up, oh well, what can you do? Set out traps maybe if you had to, and take them to a shelter ? I'd start feeding them, lol.

Oh my gosh that is awful. How do you even get the thought of something like that in your head? I have a cat to ( has my hubby says a rare black and white cheetah lol) Who is a pain to bath.I just make sure I have no plans that week so I do not have to go anywhere looking like I was mauled. Its not like you bath them every week.Cats stay pretty clean by theirselves. This story makes me sick. Some one should pull her nails out.And I can think of a few more things.
I live in an area polluted with ignorant people. One person tortured a dog and stuffed him underneath the house where the dog died a week later. The police couldn't prove a thing so no one paid for the crime. Another put a cat on a hot grill because the cat scratched him. Another woman was paid to watch someone's dogs for 3 weeks. She left the dogs in the apartment because she didn't fee like watching them anymore. One dog died. I live in the country and one day a man knocked on my door and asked me if I saw anything out of the ordinary. I said no and asked why. He said someone shot his dog and he found his body on the railroad tracks. People are sick.
I'm in the country too.People are big on shooting them here too.I cannot stand it.Unless you are hunting and a bore or something gets it and it is really suffering don't shoot it.My EX land lord had a 28 year old horse. She got down and they were going to have her put down. They did not want to pay the $85 for the vet to come do it.I offered to pay it but they would not let me.They had to shoot her twice.eeeewww I was so mad. They shot her w/ a little b-b gun looking thing. They did it just as I was walking out the house so I saw the whole thing.I had nightmares for a long time.I loved that old horse.
Don't they DECLAW cats where that lady lives? Seems to me there ARE other alternatives besides torturing the poor cat to death...declawing, rehoming, checking yourself into a mental institution....all better ideas than murdering a defenseless animal.
I hope that Childrens Protective Services is checking on those children too...scary to think what she believes acceptable discipline might be.
i've heard of people who ACCIDENTLY dry their cats in the dryer.... (my sister did this a couple of years ago and STILL crys and feels sorry about it), but NEVER have i heard of something as cruel as this.
i couldn't stand it when i first got my cat how she would claw my feet at night and claw the furniture.. it's called getting the cat DECLAWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sickens me what people can do to their animals. I got my beautiful boy Rufus nine years ago from Dobie Rescue. He was 3 years old at the time. He was a big, handsome red boy with floppy ears. He was rescued from a man in Vermont with 3 littermates, their was also a bitch with puppies. The bitch and puppies were put down immediatly because they were in such bad shape. Rufus and his siblings all had "cuts" on their ears..the man would slice the dog's ear with a knife if they growled at him. Rufus also had cigarette burns all over his body, and a scar along his right back leg where he was hit with a pipe. Two of his siblings had to be put down because they attacked everyone. Rufus and his other sibling were basically beaten into submission and cowered with everyone. It took a long time but I finally got him to trust again. He became the most devoted dog I have ever had. He passed away last year in my arms. Two sad things...1)The man never realized that the greatest doberman that ever lived was taken away from him and 2) He was only fined $75 dollars for the abuse that he inflicted on all of these dogs.
I feel silly, I'm sobbing at my computer because I still miss him so much.
Now, I'm not a big fan of cats myself. I think they're cute and nice to pet, but I like my sleep AT NIGHT!!! The last few cats I have tried to keep have scratched my face while I was sleeping, and my last cat was just completely psycho...we were not a good match at all. I would try to pet her, and she would immediately bite and attack me. I'm very allergic to all animal scratches (they swell and get infected), so when she attacked my face while I was bending over the toilet a couple of days before Christmas (I had bronchitis and the flu), I knew it wasn't gonna work. But, I didn't throw her in the washer or do anything mean. I found her a good home. She was a Christmas present for a little girl who had lost her kitty while on vacation that summer. She is doing great now. My other cats have all been given good homes too, and I have vowed to never attempt to own a cat again. Don't worry, I do much better with my dog.
Sadly, this kind of story happened to me. My little runt cat, Snowflake... he was the most loveable cat, EVER. My grandma was doing the laundry one day and he loveddd to sleep in the dryer. She took him out once, he jumped back in... she took him out again, and went to grab some clothes off the floor. Threw the clothes in, and turned on the dryer. About 2 minutes later she was standing in the kitchen and heard THUMP.. THUMP.. THUMP. She ran to the laundry room just as my mother was getting there and opened the dryer door to find my little Snowflake in there. They tried CPR on him, but he was already gone. They were so distraught they called the vet for comfort.. they said he most likely died within the second rotation, due to breaking of his neck. Horrible.. just horrible that people would do it on PURPOSE>
