It'd be fine living in an apartment as long as you provided it the amount of exercise it needed, which is a lot. Vizslas require vigorous exercise to be happy and tend to get destructive if they've not had enough. Is there a place where you could take him to run around safely?
Vizslas are best suited for indoor/outdoor dogs. living in an apartment wouldn't be good for the dog. they like to have a yard to run in. it would not be a good life for them. it would upset the dog as he/she got older.
That's bs. The dog isn't going to be upset or stressed as long as it's getting an appropriate amount of exercise and has the attention it needs. Everything I've read on them says that they adjust well to urban living but they need plenty of exercise. Things dont get much more urban than an apartment. If you run daily and can take the dog with you (but slowly, as the puppy grows. Strenouos exercise like that can be really hard on a young dog's bones) then I think you'd be a great home to put a Vizsla into.
I used to have a 92lb Doberman and I lived in a small apartment. Of course I walked him everyday and took him to a field close by to let him run or to the beach. As everyone else says size doesn't matter as long as you exercise the dog properly.
