my dog brandy is getting neutered on tuesday and i was wondering, do they have 2 be kept inside after it because id need to get at my mum now. im so worried because i was wondering if there is any risks on neuterin because my friend said that it can sometimes get behavoural problems after it. she said that this happens to boy dogs but i was still wondering because shes so gentle and i would hate for that to change because i love her soooooo much
NEUTER THAT DOG!!!!! It gave my Hooch many extra years, and you may want to put him out if he has a way to stay warm and dry, that way he can exercise and reduce stiffness, plus he may have bladder control problems for a day or two, but you can use puppy pads if you leave him indoors. Mine did not have control problems and I am glad I did it, it DID NOT CHANGE HIS PERSONALITY AT ALL, IT GAVE HIM EXTRA YEARS! Go for it and good luck! PS Hooch lived to be 16 1/2
I personally would keep my dog inside for the two weeks. The area isnt suppose to get wet or dirty, and if a dog is outside for longer then a potty break, it will most likely get wet and dirty. I think its just safer to keep them in a clean dry place inside until the stitches come out. Also remeber your dog can not have a bath for 2 weeks till the stitches come out, so I would give her a bath the day before surgery, that way she can stay inside and she will smell good too. Goodluck!
After the neuter, I would keep him quiet for about 10 days, meaning no running around, just simple walks. Carry on as usual, don't treat him any different after the surgery. Don't let him lick the incision also. ANd if for any reason, hes going to get his underside wet, like if you have to let him out when its raining, pat it dry with a towel after the outing.
Do you mean spay? If so, unless you want to deal with a heat cycle every 6 months or so and have to keep her inside so dogs don't get to her, then spay her. If you don't want to risk all kinds of cancer, spay her. It will not effect her personality.
