I have a really sweet female rhodesian ridgeback dog, her name is Angel. Once in a while she'll have terrible gas, smells like a skunk is in the room. I'm not sure why she has terrible gas. My husband & I feed her dry dog food, & when we eat dinner give her a little bit of what's left over from what we eat. Should I cut out on giving her the people food? Is it ok to give a dog people food once in a while or is that a really bad idea?
Merphy gets baaaad gas on long car trips. Even if I stop every hour to let him out and walk around, he still passes them like he had feasted on cabbage and broccoli! We took a trip up the coast a couple months ago, no more than 3-4 hours of driving per day, but they were some long long 3-4 hours!!! Somebody else said Gas X. I will try that with Merphy...he did have broccoli last night and I am still smelling the effects of it!! He eats Eukanuba in the morning, and dinner leftovers (people food) at night. Since I started giving him people food, I've seen no difference in his gas passing, except when he has broccoli.
the problem could very well lie in the kibble. my frenchies were like that alot until i switched them to the natural balance duck and potato. they could clear a room real quick. they used to gas up my bedroom at night so bad i was scared to light a cigarette in there. i would try switching the kibble and hope for the best. if it doesnt work you still have two other options, gas mask or gas-x !
My pits are the same way until I switched to a kibble that had NO CORN in it at all. Kirkland's signature at Costco warehouse, Diamond,NutroMax, there are several foods that are not made with corn, which does not digest well, as in you know when you've had corn 2 days ago....'nuff said.
